Sega confirms organized crime action game for March 15 release in North America, March 18 debut in Europe.
The Dragon of Dojima is ready to take flight again, as Sega today announced international release dates for Yakuza 4, the latest installment in its PlayStation-exclusive organized crime action series. North American gamers will be able to reacquaint themselves with Sega's take on the Japanese Mafia starting March 15, while European players will need to wait until the game launches there on March 18.
That's going to leave a mark.
In this latest installment, main character Kazuma Kiryu is joined by equally pugnacious combatants Masayoshi Tanimura, Shun Akiyama, and Taiga Saejima. Each of the four playable main characters has a distinct narrative, with each backstory carrying a connection to the game's Tojo clan.
Sega localized Yakuza 1, 2, and 3 but elected to skip the Westward migration process for series spin-off Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan!, which released in Japan in 2008. A fifth installment set amidst a zombie apocalypse, Ryu ga Gotoku: Of the End, is expected to launch in Japan in March. Global releases for that game have yet to be announced.

Might have to do some extra hustling -
Japanese gangster game Yakuza 4 comes stuffed with a mind-bending 384 minutes of cutscenes to watch. That's more than six hours worth (6.24 approximately)!
That staggering number was revealed by UK game-ratings board BBFC, which stamped SEGA's openworld crime game with an 18 rating.
Yakuza 4's total makes mincemeat of BioWare's upcoming fantasy RPG Dragon Age II, which was revealed to have 103 minutes of cutscenes last week. Killzone 3 only has 70 minutes of cutscenes - hardly worth even turning on.
Unsurprisingly, Yakuza 4 was deemed to contain "strong ? violence and strong language". Lovely.
Eurogamer reviewed Yakuza 4 on import last April, awarding 8/10.
"Yakuza 4 is made from the exact same parts as Yakuza 3. There are no significant changes to the core combat or the setting, and it looks unerringly similar. But that same mixture of brutal fighting, storytelling, exploration and random nonsense is framed much better this time around. Adding three new characters has changed the pacing completely and given the game structural discipline and variety that makes it a lot more palatable." -

That isn't going to be for another year or so, since it hasn't even dropped in Japan as yet. -
3 didnt review that well? I wouldnt take that 6.5 review to heart

CVG gave it a 9.1
EG gave it 8/10
I read the IGN review and their biggest complaint was that it was just like Yakuza 3 with a new story. If that's their complaint, then I'm picking it up. Nothing in the gameplay needs to be changed. The graphics could have been better, but that's not a big deal. -

IGN doesn't like japanese games unless final fantasy is written in the title. -

Plus they complained about it being subbed and having to read dialogue. lol
Maybe they preferred it to be butchered with terrible voice overs like in Animes. -
I bought 3 and didn't like it at all. No way I buy another Yakuza game.
