man i feel the same way joe feels about some of chance's ? .
i know chance is being genuine with it and all...and its positive music....BUT....that ? be sounding CRAZY corny to me.

Song is actually beautiful, that 1st verse was fire, but I ? w this style of rap. Love the spoken word rap steez. ? joe said is "too positive", not sure what that means.
Joe did say one thing that got my attention when he said "is this the only way we can get on TV". I noticed cole, Kendrick and chance all took the spoken word, relaxed style on route on late night TV. I'm just saying. I peeped that ? too. But song was dope. Wonder if that's an acoustic version of the real thing just made like that for TV -

...I don't faux with Chance like that...but for Joey to say its too positive...Joey wrong for that...Hip-Hop could always use positivity...
...On another note...Is my eyes phuckin' wit' me or is Joey really rockin' yoga pants b??... -

joe words things horribly.
i dont think he really meant it was too positive. i think he was saying that chance is in that territory of making positive music and church ? to where it escapes criticism. -

I took it the same way.
He meant that Chance is deliberately making critic proof music. Playing it safe and it's transparent and corny as ? because it seems kinda disingenous. Like taking an easy route.
Whereas what Kendrick did was also positive but with an edge. It actually challenged listeners. As always Buttons is not the most eloquent voice on the mic. -

Nah it ain't. Native Tongues dropped some of the illest albums of all time. So did Brand Nubian, Main Source and Public Enemy. Even more recent acts like Cunninlynguists.
It's just that this brand of positive rap isn't as effective because the flavor is not as authentic. Doesn't make that subgenre of rap trash though.

The one thing I do like about this dude is that he's kept it independent. Not letting these major labels hoodwink him at all.
