Brock was almost a ? character?

As Brock Lesnar is married to one of the matriarchs of sex in WWE his real-life heterosexuality has never been questioned. However, his WWE character was nearly written to be ? .

Former WWE writer Brian Solomon revealed on an episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that he advocated Brock Lesnar being WWE's openly ? ass kicker. The idea got traction as Stephanie McMahon not only approved but loved Solomon's progressive thinking.

The pitch would make it to Lesnar who balked at the role. The concept was put on the shelf only to be rebooted with Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo later in 2002. WWE would end up gutting that premise by having both Billy and Chuck admitting, during their staged wedding, that they were not ? .

Brock debuted in March of 2002, so in accordance with Solomon's timeline, one of WWE's earliest ideas was for Lesnar to be homosexual. Solomon underlined that Brock wasn't to exploit any offensive stereotypes, but to simply be ? . Even further, the plans were for Brock to be just as dominant as we know him today. If that is indeed the case, WWE creatives were quite forward thinking as the company has rarely hesitated when it comes to exploitation in the 15 years that's followed.

It's hard to imagine what 2017's version of Brock Lesnar would feel like after being written as a ? character since 2002. If it was simply going to be an extra layer that wasn't to be gratuitously misused, Brock Lesnar could be ? tomorrow. While that's likely not in the cards, it's fascinating the think that it once was.

It's curious to think that in all of their years, WWE has yet to commit to ? characters. While WWE Superstar, Darren Young is actually ? , that fact has yet to be mentioned on WWE programming.

Can we fully indict WWE for not having at least one homosexual character in their history? It's a complicated conversation. To them, such a sensitive subject would be too hard to maintain and thus has been avoided. Then again, WWE has never shied from overtly (if not pornographic) lesbian situations.

While there may certainly be a double standard here at play, in the end, WWE is going to put out what their viewers want to to see. So until a ? character becomes an opportunity rather than a formality for the company, ? characters will be staying in WWE's closet.

Then again, a ? Braun Strowman could be lucratively good.

Kinda gives F5 a whole new meaning

Colt Cabana Says Lawsuit From WWE Doctor Is Costing Him 'A Lot Of Money'

Colt Cabana already has a lot on his plate as a wrestler and sometimes-commentator for Ring Of Honor, but he's dealing with a bit of tumult outside the ring as well. Cabana is in the midst of a lawsuit from WWE ringside physician Christopher Amann for comments CM Punk made on his podcast, and he admitted it hasn't been easy on him.

In November of 2014, Punk was a guest on Cabana's The Art Of Wrestling podcast and said he was mistreated for a back injury and a concussion by Amann. Amann filed suit against Punk and Cabana, whose real name is Scott Colton, for the comments. Amann said Cabana had "affirmed and amplified" Punk's comments, according to the suit. As a guest on the Live Audio Wrestling podcast, Cabana said the suit is still ongoing and he's not at liberty to discuss it.

"The update is that it's still going on, it's costing me a lot of money, and that's the extent that my lawyers will allow me to talk," Cabana said. "So nothing breaking here, but just do know that it's always on my mind, it's always a very sad thing. And I've talked to other podcasters... it's kind of changed the way that he's worked and realizing that this is a reality that you can host a show and get sued for it."

"It's always in the back of my mind now, which is a little upsetting," he continued. "But that's the way of the world, I guess."

Last month on SmackDown Live, Vince McMahon cut a promo on Kevin Owens where he belittled Owens for wanting to file a lawsuit against the WWE. Cabana admitted he did feel a little offended by the promo, but pointed out that he and Punk are the ones who are being sued.

"I watched it a couple days afterwards and a little bit of me wanted to make gifs and little videos of him saying something about lawsuits and that kind of stuff," Cabana said. "I mean, I don't know. Punk and I, we didn't do a lawsuit. We're getting sued. But it did hit a little home, and of course made me a little sad."

For the last couple week, Enzo Amore has been booked for the final segment of WWE Raw leaving many viewers to speculate why WWE has taken this strange decision, traditionally (at least for the last two decades) the closing match or segment for WWE television shows has been mostly reserved for main event caliber talent and moments.

WWE Management has recently looked at the numbers over the last few years and noticed viewers are more likely to change channels throughout the show resulting in a decrease in viewers for the third hour of Raw. The idea going forward is to fill the first two hours with the main event stars and moments and end the show on segments or matches that may not be of as much interest to viewers. The thinking is this will help retain viewer interest in the main storylines before fans switch over to Monday Night Football.

A similar format was used during the 1980's and early 90's for Saturday Night Main Event when main event talent appeared at the beginning of the show rather than the end, which featured the less important stuff.

WWE has also been focused on giving away "WrestleMania worthy" matches on television broadcasts to retain and stop viewers jumping over to Monday Night Football.

Guess i have no reason to struggle staying up for the last hour if what I wanna see happens in the first 2.

I use my Network mostly to watch NXT and old episodes of RAW/Smackdown. When i aint got anything to watch i'll just pick a year and go straight through it, cant find them all in 1 place so its worth it just for that
