I don't think Biggie had the business acumen to run a record label. He dropped out of high school, not saying he's stupid but there's a lot that you need to know to run a successful label. Very few people can do it. Take Suge for example, he had Pac, Snoop and Dre and couldn't make it work because he didn't know what he was doing. Also, when you're in a boardroom with lawyers and MBAs if you can't speak the language they won't respect you.
As far was Pac goes, he couldn't have kept up at the the pace he was going. He would have either got shot and killed by somebody else, in prison or blacklisted from the industry. If he was lucky he could have segued into a successful actor, but he would have to leave that Thug Life lifestyle behind him. He wouldn't be able to get acting gigs if he kept on beating down directors (or jumping people in the casino) and acting out. Also, he would have peaked at Makavelli. Not because he couldn't rap or make hot music, but because generally speaking, people are hot for two or three albums in a row and fall off. You'd have a hard time naming artists in any genre that had more than three multi platinum albums in a row.
So many rappers that dropped out still ran a successful label
Jayz, dre, Eminem, 50 cent, etc
I'll give you Jay Z.
But Dre, Eminem and 50 were all under the Interscope umbrella. They were just hot because they were under Interscope and Jimmy Iovine knew what he was doing.

And biggie had puffy and andre harrell, etc to mentor him and don't forget Jayz was his boy too. They were working on album together at the time of biggies death -

Deathrow didn't fail cuz Suge didn't have a degree, Deathrow failed cuz Suge thought he was head of the Gambino family and not a business.
And Suge Knight actually did go to college, El Camino College for 2 years and then UNLV for the next 2 years.

How you gonna give em Jay but not Dre, Em, or 50 cuz they had Interscope.

Because every rapper without exception says they're gonna open up a label and a clothing line.
Seriously, I don't think you could name a rapper over the past 20 years that didn't say he was going to start a label and a clothing line...and get into acting. -
Biggie was actually making moves, Kim was HIS artist and she went plat

Would it have been successful? IDK but neither do you.
You keep talking this bs that you need a PhD in business to be successful when you don't.
Here I give you another example, you brought up Interscope earlier. Jimmy Iovine built that into a billion dollar record company, guess what he didn't have while doing it.........

If both were alive they would be snoop status.Dying helped both become icons
Nobody except his primarily whitey/latino fanbase would be checking for tutu music in 2017 and he'd be an actor on network tv as detective

Look at lil wayne 8-9 years ago wayne ran the rap game now nobody checkin for wayne

Dumbest ? you ever wrote...... Big at age 21 had his own record label called Undeas(he co owned with Big un)...
Lil Kim was bigs artist, and Junior as well. Now think of lil'kims platinum album sales, hits from junior mafia like players anthem, get money etcetra.
He told us his name BIG stood for Business Instead Games
The man had his blueprint laid out.. he had Brooklyn mint planned(clothing line)he had a restaurant he was about to open with heavy D.. he even planned to do a joint album with fat joe at the time nobody was doing joint albums.
You talking about business acumen, all he needed to do was front the money and employ the right people like jay and diddy are doing.
Those guys employed a lot of smart people working behind the scenes for them.
If you really listen to Big talk you will easily see that he was very smart.

Another thing, I got my degree so I'm not speaking with emotion. But just cause ? dropped out don't mean they stupid. I know alot of dumb muthafuckas that graduated

Pac would be on NCIS New Orleans and Big would probably been on Vlad couch complaining about how Diddy robbed him.

I think biggie woulda been dead by now honestly

@5grand i honor the vast history of hip hop you can retain but you really are an idiot when it comes to some of your ? ass takes.
First off you said Biggie and Pac would be like Nas. Most of the current generation born outside NYC or born after 1995 doesn't respect Nas lol. Lonzo was calling him wack a few months ago. Nas also in the northeast doesn't even sell out arenas as a solo act in 2017 so people really do sleep on him. He came to my school in CT back in 09 and it was a capacity of like 1500 people.
Also as far as biggie he only had a few albums. As time went on if he was alive he may have fell off between partying and the fame. ? reports were that he was going to leave diddy and we all know how bad boy artists were cursed after leaving diddy.
With Pac he could easily have been forgotten by the mid 2000's as the new wave came in as well. He could have easily been DMX status.
Big and Pac changed rap. But their legend and immorality in rap is due to them dying. Many legends and trail blazers that lived have been critisized or been slept on after the next wave came up. -
Pac would've been instrumental in the revolution of the nation within a nation.
Biggie would be on Mr. C's couch with a bucket of chicken. -
Only Russ I acknowledge in hip-hop is Simmons

so why do people keep sayin "if" big and Pac were alive they would've set up this, this and this.....yet turn around and discredit Jay for handling his business from the jump (already owning his own label)....i dont see either BIG or Pac doin anything with the HKL beat that literally blew Jay up to the world and put him on this run he was next up anyway with the co-sign from BIG......Jay was comin one way or another....would he still be recording music now at 40+?...who knows but the business acumen and drive to be successful was there from the jump....IMO Big would've been more behind the scenes as well and would've blew up JM and Kim(Cease prolly would've been bigger than Bleek lmao), and made money away from music....both Jay and Big were hustlers so it boggles my mind for people to forecast his future based off the lives of other men that really didn't have anything to do with his success up to that point anyway
Pac would've prolly been a full fledged actor and activist by now....maybe even an exec but i dont see Pac doin the suit and tie thing and being corporate.....or could've been in and out of jail and still on some ? ? runnin around whoppin on ? wit Suge and DR.....who really knows wit him.....he was all of over the place at the time of his death -

2Pac was out on bail when he jumped Orlando Anderson in that casino. That act was a violation of the terms of his bail. If Pac hadn't got shot that night he would have been arrested for violating the terms of his bail.
Any way you look at it Pac would have gone back to jail.
