I watched this show on CNN called This is Life w/ Lisa Ling. This episode was about "Age of Consent" and teens getting labled as sex offenders for doing fairly normal teenage stuff.
This kid was 14yrs old. Crushing on another 14yr old girl.
He decided to txt her a ? pic.... No response
2hrs later the cops show up to his house. He takes responsibility for the ? pic.
Turns out because he himself is underage, he gets charged for distribution of child porn.
He gets put on probation, will need to register as a sex offender, needs to attend sex offender therapy sessions, cant go to malls or movie theaters, his parents even need to supervise him at grocery stores.

I've read articles about this type of stuff and how the laws haven't caught up to technology. This is some wild ? to charge a teen with sending another teen a pic
-
Foulits ? up all the way around
there was a young man here that was locked up behind that ?
this situation, he was actually 18 (they go to school together, been talking) and she sent him pics (she's underage)
idk how ? came to surface but he goes to jail on child porn charges smh -

That was another part of the episode with a different kid.
He was 17 and had sex with a freshman. Some states 17 is an adult. He faced 40yrs in prison -
Foulthis ? is so ? foul
the law doesn't consider the availability of technology
there was HS QB that was potential college prospect that just got ? over for this same ?
the girl and the boy were both 16 and sent each other nudes.....they were bf/gf
the laws gave the girl probation(which is crazy to me), but the media posted the boy's face all in the news and the parents are still fighting so that the boy ain't got to register as a sex offender
and this is happening way more frequently than a lot of people realize -
FoulWhen I was in HS, nudes wasn't something that I gave out, but knew plenty of chics who did.
The laws do need to catch up with technology. -

FoulWhy is the system trying to destroy this kids life?
-
Teens can't be teens anymore. ? their hormones.
-
Foulbut let her send him a pic... no charges will happen ... its ? . they make womens life worth more than men
-
FoulWtf. This ? is sooooo crazy. He's still a kid. No need to wreck his life.
-
FoulI warned both my girls about the danger of sending a pic before they are 18, they will get charged for distribution and possession and the boy will get charged for possession. I also told them to delete any pics the get sent to them and to tell the other person they can be charged for child porn.
A girl in Canada number of years ago got in ? for sending a guy a nudie pic. -
Foulbut let her send him a pic... no charges will happen ... its ? . they make womens life worth more than men
It does actually...there was a case here by my friend's hs where 2 chicks sent each other pics (they were ? ) 1 was going off to college and the other was 2 yrs younger still in hs. The one in college had her phone hacked by ppl in her dorm (cuz they weren't ? with her for whatever reason)...they find the pics and it comes out her gf was "underaged" and she gets kicked out. Idk what else happened legally cuz I didn't follow up with it, but yea it's uncommon but it does happen.
I also read this article years ago that said parents are more likely to check up on their daughter with stuff like that than their sons. If you found ? on your son's phone you probly not asking where it came from. Daughters are getting grilled if they find a ? pic tho. -
Foul? is so stupid. Next thing you know they are considered pedophiles if 2 underage teens have sex.
When did this ? start? -
"Texted her a ? pic... no response"
Lmfaooooo that had to be an awkward 2 hours -

FoulWhen my son 13 and was in 8th grade another 8th grader sent a pic of her ? to 3 boys ...also same age. Because the boys showed the pics to other students the school called the cops and threatened press charges for distribution of child porn on all kids that saw the pic
They were not going to do anything to the girl who sent the pic only ones who received it or saw it
Eventually they just dismissed everything ....especially after the threat of lawsuits for basically interrogating minors without their parents present
It was ? up. About 15 boys were about to have their lives ruined
-

I don't.
Just because a person wants one doesn't mean that I'm obligated to do it - money or not. -
but let her send him a pic... no charges will happen ... its ? . they make womens life worth more than men
Nah she could get charged with the same thing. Its happened both ways -

When did this ? start?
It started because by definition of the law sharing a nude image of a person under 18 is illegal regardless of who is doing the sharing. Hence people saying the law needs to catch up to technology on this one because while we would all probably rather a 15 year old isn't taking and sending a nude pic the reality os it happens and it shouldn't result in a criminal record for 2 teens doing it -
These laws exist because teens and underage children can be used to obtain pics.
It happened with friends of my brother back when they were in HS. Even though ? pics and ? like that was rudimentary back then.
The football team (which he played on) would often get propositioned to sell pics they got from girls in their classes. They wouldn't always be from other students either, but the older cousin/brother etc of someone at the school.
It's ? up but that ? is child porn. It's difficult to prove that there is sinister motive behind receiving or coaxing a pic out of someone but the ? happens.
I don't think dude should be considered a sex offender but creating and distribution of child porn is serious business. The last thing you want is for some creep to use their teenage kid to obtain nudes.
