“If there is a ? -for-tat escalation Trump will have difficulty improving relations with Russia, which has just thrown the U.S.A. election to him.”
An excerpt from McFarland’s email, according to the Times.

Its authorship could reduce how significantly it communicates anything about when the president knew that Flynn had lied to the FBI, but also raises questions about the public relations strategy of the president’s chief lawyer.
Two people close to the administration described the tweet simply as sloppy and unfortunate.

President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, John Dowd, says he drafted the president's Saturday morning tweet that stated he fired former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn for lying not only to Vice President Mike Pence but also to the FBI.Dowd told ABC News he wrote those words and had done so in a "sloppy" manner. A second source familiar with the matter corroborated his account.
The apparent admission by the president -- that he knew Flynn had lied to the FBI at the time of his firing -- seems to add a potentially explosive new dimension to the ongoing special counsel investigation.
If true, why then would Trump ask the FBI director to go easy on Flynn, as former FBI Director James Comey later testified? The message set off renewed talk of potential evidence of obstruction of justice.
The White House, which has insisted that tweets from the president should be taken as official statements, has declined to comment.
It's unclear who actually tweeted out the message; it is unlikely Dowd has direct access to the president's official Twitter account and could have tweeted without his knowledge or involvement, sources said.
Dowd's acknowledgment of involvement in the tweet means it is not clear whether the president did in fact know Flynn had lied to the FBI at the time of firing him -- though one source familiar with the president’s thinking said Trump did not know. Administration officials have declined to comment on that matter, as well.
The unusual clarification by Dowd –- revealing that someone other than Trump himself had authored a tweet from his official account -- could also be an attempt to tamp down on potential legal exposure from the message.
The president did not respond to shouted questions Saturday evening about Flynn’s firing as he returned home from campaign fundraisers in New York City.

and this ? is every 12 hrs no wait til next week or teasers lmao -
A part of me thinks this ? is all theater created to keep ppl distracted. Aslong as ppl are focused on if Trump colluded with Russia, another 9/11 scale terrorist attack is inevitable. A attack on the US benefits Trump because then ppl are FORCED to depend on his leadership as president. This ? Trump is the type to send people to concentration camps & have groups of ppl slaughtered based of the "protecting america" illusion

https://www.mediaite.com/online/trump-lawyer-the-president-cannot-obstruct-justice/Trump Lawyer: The ‘President Cannot Obstruct Justice’
Following a week in which President Donald Trump tweeted incessantly about the charges levied against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, his lawyer John Dowd defended his client with a novel defense.
Speaking with Mike Allen of Axios, Dowd declared that the “President cannot obstruct justice because he is the chief law enforcement officer under [the Constitution’s Article II] and has every right to express his view of any case.”
Trump reacted to news that Flynn pleaded guilty to the charges by tweeting that he knew the former lieutenant general lied to the FBI. Many pointed out that Trump’s tweet could constitute obstruction of justice, as he admitted that he knew Flynn lied to the FBI at the time of his firing.
“The tweet did not admit obstruction,” Dowd told Axios. “That is an ignorant and arrogant assertion.”
After Trump’s tweet set of a firestorm of speculation, The Washington Post reported that Dowd, not the president, had actually written it. That should be taken with some skepticism, given how insanely reckless the tweet is worded, and how incriminating is seems.
As Allen notes, “Trump’s legal team is clearly setting the stage to say the president cannot be charged with any of the core crimes discussed in the Russia probe: collusion and obstruction. Presumably, you wouldn’t preemptively make these arguments unless you felt there was a chance charges are coming.” -

Precedent has been established with Nixon that a president can obstruct justice. -
