Kool G Rap got it when it comes to being a modern gangsta rapper
-
To be exact G. Rap pioneer "mafioso rap".
-
Mafioso rap?
-
You know that's a term yall nerds started on the reason right?
-
-
Mafioso rap is not a genre of rap ?
-
gangsta rap is ya big ?
-
just cuz u find it on wiki don't mean ? find me an old clip of them calling it mafioso rap then i'll believe
-
Yo ill say it right here they barely started labeling mafioso rap a sub genre on wiki
school me if im wrong
i believe Nas's internet fans started that term but like i said if u can prove the history of this term go head
and if it has no history as was recently created by the internet i don't give it no weight
? has to have history and origin, some type of ability to authenticate -
if not it's just a bunch of nerds creating terms cuz they are culture vultures
giving it a got dang sub genre cuz of mafia related lyrics is just silly
you can't give ? a category for every topic in Hip Hop
so u gonna give Wu Tang the The Kung Fu genre cuz they mention ? about Shoalin
make an subgenre for ? C called the ? genre
you gonna make a skater genre for Lil Wayne
u gonna make an eating rap genre for Action Bronson
a Correctional officer genre for Rick Ross

Eazy E wasn't really a gangsta rapper by today's standards. If you go back and listen to NWA's music they just cursed a lot and said "? ".on every song.
But true gangsta rap, meaning: rapping about living an illegal life in the first person over the duration of an entire album didn't start with Eazy or NWA.
A lot of people made a song about the streets and/or drugs, but the rest of the album might be dance records or braggadocios records.
I'm not that knowledgeable about obscure West Coast Gangsta Rap as far as who was rapping about crime vs who just cursed a lot.
Maybe someone else can add on. -

A pioneer without a modern sound?
Imma let you think on that one -
Kool G Rap has a sound that fathered the sound of more modern rap
I don't include the new rap sound today with the rappers with rainbow colored hair -
Mafioso rap:
Kool g rap Nas raekwon biggie jay mobb deep, Westside Gunn, conway
Gangsta rap:
Nwa. Pac, 50, DMX, schoolboy q, Vince staples meek mill YG
