Following Sen. Al Franken’s (D-MN) speech announcing his resignation over sexual misconduct allegations, one of his accusers said Thursday she was disappointed that Franken is still pushing back against the allegations.
“I have to say that I’m so sad and appalled at his lack of response and him owning up to what he did,” Stephanie Kemplin, an army veteran who accused Franken of groping her while he was in Kuwait entertaining the troops in 2003, said on MSNBC.
“He just keeps passing the buck and making it out to be something that we — we took his behavior the wrong way or we misconstrued something or that we just — we just flat-out lied about what happened to us,” she continued.
Kemplin made the comments when asked if Franken’s resignation is justice for allegedly groping several women. Kemplin said that his resignation does not feel like justice to her and that she would like to see him acknowledge his behavior.
“Justice to me would be him owning up to what he did and to stop trying to pass the buck onto other individuals who possibly — they did commit the same things, maybe even more heinous than what he’s done,” she said, perhaps referencing to Franken’s comment in his resignation speech that President Donald Trump and Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore have not seen the same repercussions for their alleged sexual misconduct.
Franken announced in a speech on the Senate floor Thursday that he will resign from his seat. He said that the allegations of sexual misconduct are a distraction, but he insisted that some of the allegations he faces are “simply not true.”
WTF.. Did she want him to do.. Get on his knees and cry & gravel for forgiveness.. It’s never enough for these people.. If you really wanted him to “own up” why didn’t file a complaint or better yet file lawsuit against that man.. Smh...

I'm not understanding the direction the Democratic Party is on. Running off Conyers and Al Franken? Those are, excuse me were, two true blue guaranteed votes the party desperately needed. Now those seats could very well go to the republicans. Why take the chance? Roy Moore? Have they not been paying attention? He's not dropping out. The DNC is suddenly moralistic? They weren't a couple days ago. It's like they are cutting off their nose just to spite their face.

While former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski has a history of lying about interactions with the media, it seems that one of his latest accusations is true and has resulted in a top ABC News producer receiving disciplinary actions.
In Lewandowski’s book Let Trump Be Trump, which was co-written with former Trump deputy campaign manager David Bossie, he accuses ABC News’ Chris Vlasto of leaking election night polling info to the Republican candidate’s camp — despite it being designed for major media outlets only.
The president’s two allies detail the incident as follows:
“Vlasto had the early exit numbers that the consortium of news networks — the Associated Press, ABC News, CBS News, CNN, Fox News, and NBC News — had collected. The consortium followed eleven battleground states, including Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Trump was down in eight of the eleven states by five to eight points. The news was devastating. A ? shot.”
After this book was released, Politico reports that Vlasto was confronted by ABC News on the matter and he admitted to such behavior. The information was especially sensitive as network’s pay millions of dollars to receive this exit polling data so they can be first to share it with audiences. Additionally, in the wrong hands, the data can misconstrued as final even though polls are still open.
“When we found out about this, we asked him about it. He admitted it and was reprimanded,” said an ABC News spokesperson to Politico — though, the exact consequences were not detailed.
It seems that the investigative producer may have had a reason behind sharing this information, as Vlasto was reportedly in the running for a communications position inside the Trump administration just after the election. However, he removed his name from consideration during the transition period.
The Vlasto news is especially bad for ABC News’ investigative reporting team as they just suffered from chief investigative correspondent Brian Ross falsely reporting on Michael Flynn and President Donald Trump’s relationship with Russia. That embarrassing error resulted in a four week suspension for Ross.
As for Lewandowski’s relationship with the media, he famously lied about forcefully grabbing reporter Michelle Fields at a campaign event and his since lied about the New York Times‘ Sopan Deb “literally crying” (he wasn’t) for thinking Hillary Clinton was in trouble at a debate. -

Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) is expected to resign from Congress, multiple outlets reported Thursday, citing unnamed sources.
RollCall first reported the news, citing an unnamed source with knowledge of the situation. Citing an unnamed Republican operative, Politico also reported that Franks is expected to resign, as did CNN, citing multiple unnamed sources.
An unnamed Arizona Republican told RollCall that “rumors” of inappropriate behavior have been “swirling around” Franks “for years, at least in 2012.”
“If this turns out to be true, there won’t be that many people who are surprised,” the Arizona Republican said, according to the report.
Franks told RollCall, “We will have a statement a little bit later, but that’s all I can tell you right now.”
“The statement will explain,” he said.
Politico’s Jake Sherman reported on Thursday that Franks was the subject of attention on the House floor.
Franks is a conservative Republican and serves on the House Armed Services and Judiciary committees.
He has previously been the subject of attention for outlandish remarks, including a claim in 2013 that “the incidence of ? resulting in pregnancy are very low.”
Franks later walked that comment back. In February, he argued the U.S.-Mexico border was so dangerously porous that nuclear weapons could be smuggled into the United States from Mexico in bales of marijuana.
