    diddy fathered the 90s.

No label has rivalled Bad Boy since they dominated

Eventually the west coast flamed out towards the end while Diddy-style rap continued to grow as a genre

Diddy paved the way for Jay and Juvie and Cash Money

NWA hands down because if it wasn't for them ? wouldn't have taken the street ? to the level its been. NWA made major hip hop labels embrace more of that uncut raw street ? because they seen the $$$$$$$$$ it generated Where as b4 they had us on some Kid N Play, Salt N Pepa ? .

Nah man Diddy and Bad Boy paved the way even Biggie was all about bling/style/women etc and people dont realize it

Diddy and his followers made it okay to rap about living the high life, No Limit didnt come till later

he's so irrelevant that NWA took to gangsterism after Criminal Minded dropped? doesn't sound irrelevant to me but hey..

& judging another man's looks is a bit... how do the young people say these days?

clever... i'm sorry but ur thread is pretty weak. WHen u claim someone fathered the sound of 2000 at least give one example... B/c i dont think he fathered any sound in 2000's...

and in regards to this brillant post by you... it was the south that ran with his style and added sounds? So if it was just the south that ran with his style, how did he father all of 2000?

it's 2010 step ur game up

The 90's was poppin, hip hop was very well alive.

Its so many artists that have contributed to the 90's era though it's just not one..But one that has had a big global world wide impact was the man himself Tupac

KRS-1 gave birth to the 90's hip hop artists..you got Rakim, Public Enemy, Big daddy kane, NAS, Wu-tang, N.W.A and the list goes on.

NWA followed by Dre ruled the game till mid 90's, when renaissance era of NYC brought creativity back (Nas, AZ, Biggie, Wu Tang, Mobb Deep, Jeru). Then bling-bling era followed.

Perhaps nobody fathered the 90's. Some people are capable of independent thought.
