I just had a debate about ghostwriters and weither Biggie had one or not in the recent "What did Fab and Jada Accomplish" thread, well that thread was locked. But some posters brought up this list that's flouting around. 1st I went through the whole list and most of it are credits that the actual writer got credit for on the album credits. People don't understand the definition of "Ghostwriter". A Ghostwriter is paid to write a verse but is not given the publishing credit for it on a song. A "Co Writer" is paid also for their work but they are given writer/publishing credit. Like NaS on "Big Willie Style", people say he "Ghostwrote" for Will Smith but he actually was a "Co-writer" that got writer credit on the songs he helped write so NaS didn't "Ghostwrite" for Will. So Here is the Infamous list, Do you believe it?

Jay Z and NaS both "Ghostwrote" for Foxy and didn't get any Credit. Biggie "Ghostwrote" for Lil Kim and Junior Mafia and didn't get the writing credit for their verses. Obviously they did that cause they were trying to put people one. But Yea, Jay Z is responsible for Foxy's Debut just like Big was responsible for Lil Kim's.

Not true. Jada admitted Biggie made him re-write his verse on "Last Day" in the XXL "Making of Life After Death". Ma$e was ghostwriting mostly for Puffy as Ma$e wrote Puffy's verses on "Mo Money, Can't nobody Hold Me Down, Been Around the World". Jada wrote Puffy's verses on "Benji's" and "Senorita" (Which Fat Joe helped Puffy with the Spanish words for the song). Biggie was a ghostwriter himself, he didn't need anyone writing for him. Speaking of Fat Joe, Big Pun was ghostwriting for him heavy during the "Don Cartagina" album.

I feel the same too, I noticed it didn't list Biggie's writing anything. Especially when it was common knowledge that Big wrote for the JM.

Cormega wrote the "I'll be flooded with ice so hell fire can't scortch me" line for NaS on "Affirmative Action". I believe NaS admitted they were all in the studio feeded off each other ideas. It was just one line and everyone who's been in a studio session knows this goes on. Not a Big deal again just one line.

NaS ghostwrote for her on "The Firm" and on "Affrimative Action" from "I.W.W." (So people should be getting on NaS for her fuzzy math, lol), Jay ghostwrote for her for "Ill Na Na", that is another reason NaS didn't like Jay cause Foxy started messing with Jay Z during the whole Firm ish and working with him. The only song NaS ghostwrote for Foxy on her album was "The Promise" which was produced by Havoc so that's not a surprise:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwecbNMuHoo&feature=related

Foxy Brown - The Promise (Ghostwritten by NaS)

So I'm not saying the list is wrong, there are some true stats up there. But there are also some that aren't true so it was like they mixed the factual ones with the rumor ones.

Smitty is a millionare off Ghostwriting, as well as Mad Skillz, those dudes put in work on the Ghostwriting tip. I was surprised about T.I., I didn't know he did that much work with Bow Wow. But when you listen to the tracks, it all makes sense now.

There is nothing to confirm for sure that any of these are true. Some of them are true, some of them are Rumors. I already disproved that Jada wrote for Biggie from his own words in a published magazine about the song in question. Doubtful Ma$e wrote for Big but Jada and Ma$e did fill up Puff's rhyme book. I do not believe that Ma$e helped Jay Z write "I just wanna love you" that sounds false to me.

It's not my list, it's a list that has been floating around online with no sources or proof. Most of it may be hearsay but I've hear of some of these songs were infact ghostwritten. I don't believe the Biggie ones obvioulsy and have proof they are false. A lot of people have taken this list to other Hip Hop sites and ran with it like it was fact but again most of the things on this list can't even be proven.
