Either, as one can encompass the other.
-
street smart, it's life and experience, and a better picture than a book. I rather see it. than read it.

pretty much.....it's not the type of knowledge that's important...... it's the ability to know how to use it -

Life smarts .

Wow this thread is original....I'll say booksmarts...street smarts only will take you so far in life

It depends on the situation at hand. Both have an enormous role because a person can't be balanced without " book smart" and "street smart" combined. The most intelligent individual, no matter the rank of intelligence, still needs to know the basics of "street sense". .. nothing more than common sense. Something we all desire but lack at certain times through out life.. -

If you look further, the same can be said about Book smarts. -

daps on the thought out response. i ask, because most often , i run into people who have one, but seem to lack the other, or one takes precedence over the other. The desire, it seems is to have an equal combination of both, though that is not often the case. -

true...... -
any smarts without application is useless..
if ur book smart and lack common sense.. the book smarts are pointless
if ur street smart and lack confidence and courage to use them..u could end up dead
either way the smarts themselves aren't important at all.. but the ability to know how to use them is what's important.... -

Knowledge is worthless without knowing how to go about using it.
Life is useless without knowledge, knowledge is useless without wisdom.

What would you call that ability? that "know how?" And where does it come from? -

Life smarts aka.wisdom. -
"Book sense without common sense is a damn fool"
"wisdom knowledge and understanding" -
Street smarts= survival

wisdom/wit...normally comes from experience -
Conscious__Nkechi wrote: »Life smarts aka. wisdom.
no disagreement there. -
-
i'd take an extremely witty and wise person over anyone who had a lotta book or street smarts.....

yeah, that the whole point of wisdom. It's is the strength of character to accept it when you are probably wrong; and the strength of character to maintain it when you are probably right. -
I'd appreciate either..
