carlin is the goat
pryor is number two, but i understand why black people hafta say he's number one -
So Carlin himself stated that Pryor was leagues ahead of him.
Retort?
Oh yeah. Which one lost his career and couldnt handle his high.
If you say Pryor. Go read both biographies and see who had more gigs when they were on that ? ?
If your lazy... Pryor was getting burned running down the street and releasing movies about it and still caking...
Carlin was sitting around becoming broke and his daughter was turning to a ? .
Oh, I respect both comedians but know your history. -

1. he didn't say that
2. if he did, it means he was being nice -

Read his biography.
Thanks. Dont just watch lists and countdowns.
Study comedy.
Also, when the ? did George Carlin just be nice.
Were talking about a guy who never stuck around during shows and ? over jack Burns to some extent. -

lmao, this dude is silly.
His biography doesnt prove anything. It's just his views. -
carlin liked pryor and felt bad for him when he got sick
of course he was gonna say pryor was a better comic, he was being humble
if you watch their ? , you can see that carlin holds up and pryor does not
"mudbone" still funny to yall in 2011?

You mean Carlin in 75 when he was too coked up to do SNL? That Carlin? The one where the whole world swore he fell the ? off?
Or do you mean is career rebirth in the 90's? When Pryor was steeped in MS? Oh that...
Do you even have Carlins comedy Albums?

Yes, but it doesnt prove anything. -
Since pryor was before my time..i dont find him as funny as say...a person that was my age when he had fresh material
I dont find carlin haha funny...but i enjoy his shows
Chris rocks humor is funny as ? and also real...hes at least number 2
When i want haha funny tho... Dave chapelle and jamie fox have me holding my stomach
No ? -

Thanks for playing.
word
anyway, carlin is the undisputed goat, pryor is number two, and kevin hart is not funny whatsoever -
Carlin vs. Pryor in their heydays is very tough to say.
However, overall, the scale tips for Carlin because he was dropping great material in his later years as well, and "You are All Diseased" (Carlin's 1999 HBO special) was a classic. -
Carlin isn't overrated. He has some strong bits out chea.
I hate when people just dont see the effect Richard Pryor had on the game of comedy as a whole. Him and Lenny Bruce.
He inspired Carlin. He inspired everyone to step out and talk about that real ? . He made the jump and did it so well he had the world in his hands. MS took his genius for 20 years.
Without no Pryor/bruce there would be no Carlin. He would have stuck to his guns with his PG comedy. -

Cosign to that assessment of all 3 people mentioned. -
Lemme just say...
Billy Connolly>>>>>> both of them. -
bruce, yes
pryor, not so much
red fox was much more influential than pryor -

Thats an unfair comparison.
With no MS I bet Richard would still be ripping material to this day. -

Stop right there. Your done on this comedy history ? .
Go sit in a corner and spam some simpletons in the Social lounge or something. -

Billy Connolly>>>>>> both of them.
This is just my opinion though. -

Have you seen Ricky Gervais: Science yet? -
thehonorable wrote: »With no MS I bet Richard would still be ripping material to this day.
he would have done progressively ? and ? movies until basically he became the black Tim Allen -

This doesn't mean anything about the discussion of whether Carlin or Pryor is the best comedian. I would only bring that point up to someone who loves Carlin but thinks Pryor is wack (and I don't know anyone who fits that description). Plenty of people surpass the key figures who influenced them.
