Otis, by 8 football fields.

As far as the sample flip, Masta Killa... Ye just sampled mad randomly and just looped it. This one at least makes sense, even tho the rest of the IC might think it's "boring".
No Said Date is a near classic btw -
master killer is my 2nd wackest rapper next to ugod
-
No Said Date is an amazing album... Otis uses the sample better though IMO.

Damn sure was. One of the most slept on albums of this DECADE. But kanye used it better..... -
No Said Date= DOPE ASS ALBUM!!!!! I have always thought Masta Killa was dope (listening to Queen while i type this)
But Kanye used the sample better -
I thought the dtd sample was a lil more creative.

They tried to do more with it but it came off sloppy and unpolished. -

True, I kinda like the sloppy quality of it though. Of course Ye would sound more polished, that's what he does. But my problem was he sampled it mad randomly. In both cats defense though, that's not an easy song to sample. It's mostly a song of major chords. Hip hop is built on minor chords. If I was Ye, I would've sampled this

I thought both songs felt like it was missing something but I thought dtd was better because they did more to the beat. All kanye did was loop it. -
2 nice tracks! and yes no said date was an insane album! especially for such a limited mc. no hate.

the videos are now embedded

How in the hell did i sleep on this masta killa album?..kicking myself in the ass for that one......I think Kanye's version was better.......but I liked Masta Killa's song more...better lyrics and better flow...RAe killed ? as usual

The fact that you're calling it the "Otis" sample should give you your answer.

not really....jay and kanye more popular plus the song is newer than MK version.....calling it the OTIS sample just means cats will know what we're talking bout -

it dont mean the jayz/kanye version is a better song. it's just more popular and new. -
Masta killa-dtd
Jay z and kanye Otis
kayne wins this beat wise
i hope jay and yeezy make a bunch of videos for this album ... maybe ill like it more -
I guess i must be in the minority that thought dtd used the sample better
-
I'm a have to go with Masta Killa
-
I'm actually surprised that Otis is getting so much love. That song is boring to me in every way. The beat is simple as hell.
-
Is Otis worth the listen? I honestly haven't heard it yet.. I got No Said Date though. It's legit.
