Honestly a song is not going to stop police brutality or gang violence or anything. People have to want to do better for a message to get to them and thats not happening. Making a song like that would only appeal to the people that are on a path to change they lives already or people that are already against those issues. So you would be preaching to the choir. Which isn't making anything better.

I never said it would -
Give it time, every generation has someone like this. Of course nowadays, if a non superstar rapper drop a song all y'all would just say he's tryna capitalize off the murder
-
When you put "this generation" into the box of mainstream rappers you won't find another Ice Cube. When you leave that box you'll find the 20 or so Ice Cube's that are still going along fine.
-
because there is no lane for them type of ? . ? ain't gonna sell, you'll be that dude who raps and displays messages in your songs but that ? aint gonna pay ya bills.
what the ? u mean it ain't gonna sell?
all u need is one or two ice cubish type song on your mixtape or cd..
@ T/S i say lupe fiasco reminds of a cube

*IC logic*
Lupe=Lazerz=not possible to be a outspoken rapper no matter what
This generations Ice Cube is basically Kanye. -

Hahaha at a Fashionista who hosts fashion shows being this generations ice cube. If he was, he ain't no more -
The closest thing to Ice Cube in this generation is Killer Mike. He held Oscar Grant down with that "Burn" record IMO.

But...What's the difference between a fashionista who hosts fashion shows, and an actor who does children's movies?
Cube turned Muslim, grew a fro, and spoke to kids bout black power...
Kanye made a song bout Jesus, spoke to kids bout education and creativity, and got on national t.v. and said that the president didn't care about his people....
End of the day they both just some rich ass ? that try to balance their rich ass lives with what's actually goin on in the communities they grew up around. -
The closet this generation has to ICE CUBE is Killer Mike. He does bring it in that same fashion.

The difference is he making family friendly movie to encourage families and disjointed families to be together which is
positive to the overall movement . The first thing they do is try to destroy family so you go another route then just making
angry music by making a movie where a disjointed family at the end comes together. Creating movies with a positive message
is better than encouraging needless vanity and materialism . Oh you didn't mentioned how Kanye retracted his statement
about the president. -
Kendrick Lamar showed some promise on "Section 80"...
Co-sign Killer Mike but he isn't that young, though. -

I mean the way Trayvon Martin was killed was horrible. Where are the rappers who would be making songs about this and get outraged. I mean seriously. Why are rappers so ? weak now a days.

They let these corporate label heads i.e. Jewish executives emasculate them. -

^pretty much & kids today are softer than a baby's ass. If you're not talking about ? , cars, money, weed, or drugs no one will listen to you. It would be refreshing to hear a young militant brother in 2012 because we need one now more than anything.
-
And Kanye is a ? for retracting his statement. I bet money he did it cuz his ? told him so.
-
we do. his name is ice cube.

Some of these 2000-ish artist might take a stab at doing what Cube did but it's all posturing. They will have a white guy loungin at the tilt playing PS3 all day/clubbin/studio sessions and etc at the same time....lol. ? be having a white parent or grandparent n ? talkin bout the white man is the devil (and then say "but not all of them")
-

read my earlier post in this thread. Mixed race folks are making it complicated for another pro-black movement to pop off. -
because everybody wanna be Jay or 50
-
Because there's no need for that type of radicality. I'm cool with what Lupe & Kanye represent.
