Isiah Washington was on russ parr show this morning, was listening because ipod was dead, and he talked about hollywood in general. he asked a question to russ parr stating this "If a you or a group of people(white or black) spent years building thier product(hollywood), would you go around telling other peoples storys? would you tell the asians story? the native american story's? Arabs stories (ect ect changing the ethic groups) No you want to tell your peoples stories, thats why Hollywood is the way is is".

when he said that everything about Hollywood made sense

In Defense of Dragon Ball, not a single person on that show was stated to be Asian or of Asian descent (the same almost could be said for Avatar, but it was very ? clear that the four nations were stand ins for the various Asian cultures in the real world). And just because the creator and country of origin is Asian doesn't mean all the characters are Asian (for example, only 2 people of the 15+ Gundam Wing cast are Japanese and Gundam Wing is a japanese anime).

Not surprised. America is far from being post-racial and won't be post-racial for a very long time.

I said this in other threads, but The baby boomers got to die off and white America becoming a minority before America can become a post racial society. Hunger Games just made a lot of folks mad and I'm glad that it did.

The funniest thing i've heard the last 10 years is white folks screaming reverse racism. Ya'll ain't about that struggle and the plight of being treated like second class citizens, screaming reverse racism while your ass is living in the burbs and enjoying the benefits of generational upper hand.

Everything about 95% of human Dragon Ball characters suggested they were Asian, including the cities, signage, and handwriting. There was one distinctly Indian character named Uub and a handful of African characters (there's no proof that Mr. Popo was supposed to be African, or even human... one particular Japanese version showed Popo with blue skin instead of Black).

But it's funny that in order to save the day, the main characters have to turn into Caucasians (blonde hair and blue eyes). Next thing you know, the series becomes a hit in America.

so Hollywood is one group of people (white people) who all get along and believe the same things?

most the power in hollywood comes from Caucasion studio heads

It's funny though they getting mad like black people be in movies all the time or some ? , I'd really tired off all the white washing in movies. I'm not saying to make all the characters black but make a equal representation of all races, especially if the character is obviously suppose to be non- white like what happen in The last air ? and Dragon Ball Z

It funny how they expect blacks to stomach 2 hours of their constant self glorification and yet they get mad about blacks even making an appearance in certain films. Again the problem isn't us, it's them.

riiiiiighht, so u take other ppl stories, and you make it yours. start white washing it.

because 60% of these movies aren't white people stories, their native americans, indian, orientals, blacks , latinos...

this is america not europe, america was always a melting ? b.

No one in Dragon Ball is stated to be Asian because DBZ Earth isn't really our Earth. The continents aren't the same, the cities aren't the same, and our earth doesn't have anthropomorphic animals holding public offices. That said, the characters are clearly modeled off of Asian culture. Nothing in DB screams European or American, so why would you assume they were white? And Gundam Wing is a bad example because the cast is intentionally and specifically stated to be made up of people from around the world. That's a noted part of the plot.
