Im going to leave this up to yall to debate cause theres just to many and idk them all but MY FAV would have to be Nas but who do yall think the best eastcoast rapper is and atleast give a good reason why they should be considered the best

While i think Nas is a better lyricist that Jay Z, Jay Z is a better song writer and more consistent with dropping music. of course we can talk about ppl like Rakim and G rap, but Jay has reached a level very few rappers have gotten too.
50 is in that league because he got the same kind of money Jay got almost, according to Forbes, but 50 ain't consistent.he did huge numbers though until this last album. Puff, but Puff ain't really a rapper.
Not saying skill= money or album sales, but Jay ain't no slouch lyrically.He's better than 99% of MCs at his worse most times.
Even Nas admitted what Jay has accomplished. Overall Jay Z GOAT Eastcoast rapper, unless you count Pac as Eastcoast because he was born there LOL -

I see folks say jay-z&pac i fck with jay but lyrically nas is better i think its just jay-z has a better flow cause there is a difference some rappers are lyrical killers like cannibus but when he went against ll cool j folks like LL more because his flow so i see why folks ? with jay over nas im not sayin jay aint lyrical but i think nas is better at it&can tell deeper stories than jay and well 2Pac may have been borin in the east but can you really give it 2 him i mean he did rep westcoast only so wouldnt he fall into the westcoast category...also i say sumone said ghostface but i cant speak on him cause i dont really listen to him

nas and a.z. was my favorite eastcoast rappers when biggie was livin, real ? . I felt like they shared my demeanor.

There is no such thing as a NY G.O.A.T rapper. Many of them have different styles, technique, and lyrical ability that makes up the genre hip hop.
