To go with someone current I would say Blu is my favorite artist for over the past 5 years
MF DOOM would be my 2nd favorite artist in the 2000 era.
I'm a old head on the board (as they say) just turned 39
So when it comes to being from where I'm from and not mentioning some "gangsta rapper" as being a favorite is because they talk about it while I lived it since 1985. It has less appeal over the past decade then it did years prior. -
