As far as bringing NY back, I just feel like this type of music doesn't appeal to most of these young listeners today.. Which is a shame. -

There is no such thing.
Something different then the previous era. NY needs new blood from rappers to producers. Examples: guys like ASAP Ty BEats and Aarabmusik have a "new", distinctive sound that could work with NY rappers. EastCoast had boom bap, the whole chipmunk soul of the 00s and now it needs a new sound. Or it needs to put its own spin on the trap beat movement (like Jahil Beats has been doing) -
