Veteran Detroit Hip-Hop group Insane Clown Posse (ICP) has been confirmed to take part in the upcoming documentary film, “The Untold Story of Detroit Hip-Hop.”
“The Untold Story of Detroit Hip-Hop” is being directed by Detroit native Brian “Champtown” Harmon.
Champtown is veteran of the Detroit Hip-Hop scene, who has worked with a who’s who of artists, from ICP and Kid Rock, to Eminem, who was affiliated with Champ’s Straight Jacket Records at one point.
Eminem
ICP, who will host the 13th annual Gathering of the Juggalos this weekend, squashed a long running feud, that at one point, drew Eminem into the fray, although Eminen and ICP have yet to work out their differences.
“I don’t want to give too much of the movie away but I will say this. It was Great having ICP be apart of the Untold story,” Champtown told AllHipHop.com. “Say what you want about the ‘Wicket Clowns,’ but they have had over a 20 year run and are still running the ball. In the music industry, that is very impressive.”
In addition to ICP, “The Untold Story of Detroit Hip-Hop” is narrated by Chuck D. and features a number of influential Detroit artists.
Artists like Artists like Big Herk, Rockbottom, Street Lords, Chedda Boyz, Royce the 5”9, Slum Village, Kid Chaos, Trick Trick, Stretch Money, K Deezy, Verdict and others are featured in “The Untold Story of Detroit Hip-Hop,” which is in the editing stages and nearing completion.
According to Champtown, he requested interviews from Eminem and Kid Rock, but he is waiting on replies from his former confidants.
Champtown, who was recently named Vice President of A&R at Canorous/Universal, said the soundtrack would be released via Canorous.
Champtown’s also planning an album of hard-to-find early material from Detroit legend Danny K., who influenced everyone from Eminem to Kid Rock, by their own admission.
Additionally, Champtown is prepping a collaborative album with Esham, as well as releases from Soundsick, Dogmatic, 5 Ela,Checkin Trapps ,The Coonjuice m
Man and others.

You peep Razakel's Muerta album yet? -
This makes me ashamed to say I'm from Michigan. If you're gonna make a movie about detroit hip-hop you talk about Dilla and his crew, Em and his crew, and cover the horrorcore guys in 5 minutes.

I am not a fan of ICP or any of that type of stuff, especially not horrorcore, but I have to give Genocide due credit. I respect how consistent you are about liking that type of music.
