I'm going to go see Django, but no I don't expect it to be better than The Hobbit, that was well done better than the book in my opinion.
-
I thought it was a great movie, funny, entertaining and I thought the pace was good. Didn't feel like it was almost 3 hours. Way too many N words for any movie but I came in expecting that.

8.5 out of 10. Not groundbreaking but great.

What's the purpose of these Samuel L Jackson/Uncle Ruckus characters? I mean, other than to entertain white people?
People say its supposed to be some sort of clever social commentary but that always seems like such a contrived explanation. -
^^^ So now ? wanna act like Uncle Ruckus ? didn't/don't really exist...?
-
I thought it was unrealistic when Schultz clapped Candie. He's supposed to be the calm one and then he goes and shoots dude. Seemed like they just wanted an excuse to squeeze in some more gun fights
Oh and a dude who never shot a gun before instantly becoming a great shot is mad unrealistic -

He is Leonardo DiCaprio's right hand, an old house ? plays a pivotal part of the movie. People like this character did exist during slavery, so I had no problem with it.
His character showed no matter how hight up he was he was or smart he was still a slave . -

Uncle Ruckus cats did and do exist but the way they handle these types of characters seems solely as a way for white people to laugh at racist jokes and not feel guilty about it because the character saying them is black.

^^ I guess, but honestly if it was a white person makin the racist jokes, and it's funny Imma laugh...Ion got time to let political correctness interfere with my sense of humor...There's always a line depending on peoples' different perspectives...But honestly, ? too sensitive...All races.

Movie was hilarious...

havent seen it yet, but i caught a few episodes of Roots over the weekend
no way any scene in django could top Kunta getting the black whipped off his back -
I hate pretensious ppl b
-
Sam was funny in this, especially at the end
-
The movie was awesomely hilarious. Ending was comic bookish but none the less a good movie. Oh and I love the music Quinten T. is really good with that.
-
Link me to this historical document that details the over the top behavior of Sam Jackson... U ? will believe anything...
-
Going tonight!
-
Sleeping on this and now thinking about it I did enjoy it more than Inglorius and ? Bill Vol. 2. Death Proof was just ? awful. But Django was much more entertaining than those films.
-
The most disturbing part imo was the mandingo fight smh

I know ? young and old right now who get coonish round white people...And it's not een funny, it's sad...But if somebody can make a good caricature of people like that, what should I get offended for...? -
it was sold out where I went. im guessing it premiered number 1
-
I still need to digest that ? some more. But I enjoyed it. There are some things that I wasn't really fond of, like QT naming the white German guy who emancipated Django physically and mentally 'Dr. King'. But overall, I liked it...I think.
