GOAT (Not only a legend in the game, but one of the best to ever do it hands down)Distant Relatives being better than watch the throne is opinion.
No ? ? , the thread premise is opinion based.
I'd like to see one of these threads that's not so lopsided...Snoop or Eminem maybe? -

Everyone sings Lauryn Hill's part and not rap Nas' verses.D_Rap_Scholar wrote: »^^^ Ohhhla, this time, you deserved that ?
Since when did being GOAT mean that you can't have guest features on your cuts? Seriously, where ya'll coming up with this?
Besides, the hook of a hit song is usually the catchiest part of any hit single...so I don't see why we should hold that against Nas
i told yall before pac stans always lie and make up ? .
Nas is better than Pac.
Nas is number 2 for me, what the mean??

Nas fans that are willing to look past his beats. A casual fan would be turned off by that album due to the slow beats. His other albums are fine to me his beat selection gets overblown too much.
I dunno man, I've never really been impressed by his beat selection. It doesn't mean that his music is whack, but I feel like it kinda limits the replay value of his songs...just a bit.
That kinda stuff is subjective anyway.
You've never wished Nas could spit over better-sounding beats? Not ever?
Someone once asked Nas what was his favorite cut was out of his catalog....and you know what song he chose.... STAR WARS. That's right, a song that has him rapping over lasers and video game sounds...lol ? likes rapping over weird beats for some reason.
That never crossed my mind because I liked his beats for the most part.
your the same person that said the standardized slaughter beat grew on you after awhile..proving once and for all u and nas have the worst taste in beats ever
So what. Music is subjective. -

Legend (Place in Hip Hop Undeniable)Let's not forget that Men In Back, which Nas wrote, was a MASSIVE hit around the world. So anyone who says Nas can't make commercial records is an idiot
Yea but can he deliver it?
It's one thing to write, doesn't mean you can execute it.
Nas's mic presence isn't that good.
He's not charismatic at all. -
Legend (Place in Hip Hop Undeniable)One of (if not) the greatest lyrical rapper of all time. But i cant pick him over Pac, Biggie or even Hov. I still give Streets Disciple a spin now and then
-
Legend (Place in Hip Hop Undeniable)writing a commercial hit dont mean you good at it.
Will Smith still had to make the record pop.
If Nas had performed it it wouldnt be as big -

Legend (Place in Hip Hop Undeniable)Damn, Y'all Nas stans are just as bad as any stans.
Here I thought y'all were reasonable.
I take that back.
Nas is perfect. -

It's not really about him being perfect...and it's even about his as an artist. You may not find Nas to be charismatic...ok, that's fine. But it's pretty hard to deny the consistent mainstream success he's had. The bottom line is, I don't think you're giving Nas enough credit for the hits he's had or has been featured in....and if he wasn't successful with that kind music, then how would you explain his sales and popularity? Are we to believe that every time he managed to go platinum or gold, it was because of people other than him?

You guys make it seems he can do anything if he tried.
You'll wrong. He makes great music and creative concept.
But he isn't a better songwriter than Pac and Jay. -

It's fine man. If you think Nas is lacking charisma, or just aren't that impresed with his work, then that's all fine and well. You're entitled to your own opinion. But I don't see how a hip hop fan as old as you can say that Nas hasn't made a hit single or club song worth mentioning....but lemme stop here before I get drawn into another debate lol

That's what makes you a great songwriter.
Nas has his peers beat in creative concepts.
But he can't make a hit single or record to save his life.
Reason why most casual say the stupidest ? about Nas.
I agree from a Hip Hop perspective Nas is the G.O.A.T.
But overall and transcending music. Jay or Pac has that.
Mind you Pac is number 6 for me. -

Plus, a song's success isn't limited to the quality of the song.. marketing, beef etc. can have a hand in a song's success as well.. -

I used to think Nas was the G.O.A.T. and no one was seeing.
But I noticed that Jay's catalog with a lot of duds it is still enjoyable.
Nas is worst tracks make me cringe but Nas was my childhood rap superhero.
I felt he can do no wrong until '08.
Mind you, Untitled is ? and a great album so that's not it.
