did you know that in the Pacific Islands, natives pickle their foods in holes in the ground lined with banana leaves, and use them as food reserves in case of storms. The pickles are so valuable that they've become part of the courting process, helping a man prove he'll be able to provide for a woman. In Fiji, guys can't get a girl without first showing her parents his pickle pits.

My dad and I had planned a trip to Utah, with the 4 kids as well, to visit some family. The wife can't go due to work. So I realize that we will be gone on the 4th, so she got upset that we wouldn't be home.
We have never done anything on the 4th, sometimes we will do a box of fireworks but she has never really liked that ? anyways. So instead of talking about it and her asking to postpone it, she just got upset and hasn't talked since Friday evening.
I have tried to talk but she just says short answers.

I could see if it was a bigger holiday, but the 4th? I don't see it as a significant date we have ever really celebrated.
But, I cancelled the trip, maybe won't even go at all now. Who knows. I postponed it to July 5th through the 12th. -
