A new set of GTA V release date spoilers appeared over the weekend, courtesy of an exclusive GTA V event Rockstar hosted ... in Russia! Ever since the GTA V release date was moved to Sept 17, fans have heard about lots of different GTA V release date spoilers. There were GTA V spoiler maps created by fans that show the topography of Los Santos, and another that attempts to map out all the different neighborhoods and locations by comparing screenshots to Los Angeles (the city Los Santos is based on).
The most recent GTA V release date spoilers from Russia gave fans a few tidbits of info, including two new screenshots. The most significant of the new GTA V release date spoilers is the revelation that your in-game character will show permanent scars resulting from damage sustained in the game. Scars, burns, etc. could result in a change in your character's appearance. Although it wasn't revealed as to what, specifically, could cause those marks, don't be surprised if the scars only come after important story missions and not just from random sandbox chaos.
The GTA V spoilers from Russia also revealed a few things about the environment of Los Santos. During a parachuting event, eagle-eyed spectators noticed a huge military installation, not out-of-place for any GTA game, sure, but its inclusion clearly hints at some high-level weaponry being available once the story/sandbox chaos takes you there. Will it be as epic as CJ's jetpack heist/hoverjet shootout missions from GTA: San Andreas? Hopefully!
The GTA V release date spoilers also revealed that, as in Far Cry 3, the wildlife in GTA V actively hunts each other. So don't be surprised to see some bear-on-deer or shark-on-smaller-shark action. Tourists and vacation activities were also seen at the GTA V event, which means fans might get to sit back, relax, and go fishing after a long day of bank robbing and bloodletting.
There were reports of background music playing during the demo, but whether this is a permanent feature (and a first for the series) or just part of the event remains to be seen. It just doesn't seem right to have background music in a GTA game, though. Overhearing some of the hilarious dialogue ("what the ? -a-doodle-f-k?") adds a lot to the game, as does the sound of the cityscape in general.
When it comes to GTA V music, ever since the epic Vice City soundtrack, GTA fans have had high expectations for the music in each game. And since just about EVERYONE wants to play GTA V, it's no surprise that when artists hint they might be on the soundtrack, it's big news. So it should be no surprise that there have been a few GTA V release date spoiler leaks concerning the soundtrack, not just the background music.
Fans of hip-hop star The Game are anticipating that he'll be a part of the GTA V soundtrack, based on some fan art posted to the Money Gang Facebook page. The image shows The Game wearing a GTA V hoodie, and it looks consistent with other artwork from previous games. There's even a Rockstar logo on the pic. Does this mean he's in? VideoGamer thinks so. They revealed that The Game told Wired 96.5 that he had done "a little bit of work" with Rockstar on GTA V. Since The Game lent his vocal talents to GTA: San Andreas as Mark "B-Dup" Wayne, there's no reason to doubt the rumor he would return in some capacity to work on GTA V.
Another artist fans are anticipating making sweet musical love to the GTA soundtrack is The Alchemist. Once again, this is an artist with prior ties to Rockstar, as The Alchemist worked on GTA: Chinatown Wars. The spoiler for his work on GTA V was released by Pinoytutorial, which uncovered a tweet from the rapper in which he claimed to be working on the original score for the game. The Alchemist, and his collaborator Oh No, provided ten songs for the Chinatown Wars in-game radio.
The GTA V release date spoilers from Russia also revealed more about the underwater landscape of Los Santos. Fans already know that underwater exploration (complete with submersibles) is happening, but fans in Russia got an extended look at the underwater world and report that it isn't just some static vacuum for you to fall into. Apparently, the underwater environment of Los Santos is teeming with life, completely with plants and fish that react to the players presence in life-like fashion. Obviously, one of those life-like reactions will probably be a shark attack, so let's hope Rockstar gives us a great explosive tipped spear gun to deal with the Great White wonders.
When it comes to actual GTA V content, Rockstar has been at the forefront of putting stuff online In addition to creating the Epsilon twitter account, which is based on the in-game KIFFLOM cult, they have released numerous screenshots and trailers. Here are the most prominent trailers fans have been viewing to get a glimpse of the story and gameplay awaiting them on GTA V's release day:
here is the mentioned KIFFLOM video.. ? is funny af

Features
You can buy property; houses, garages, businesses and marinas can all be purchased for extra revenue sources.
You can pick up hitchikers, do stunt jumps and flying challenges, take part in yoga, golf, tennis, bike races and triathlons.
iFruit, the game’s new phone, can be used to snap pictures and upload them to Rockstar’s Social Club
The phone also has apps. In addition to the camera there is internet, contacts, social media, a calendar, and a replay missions app. There are three more Rockstar hasn’t yet revealed.
A combat roll has been introduced for moving between cover
Liquor store and ATM robberies is possible.
Side missions will be making a return. One would involve Michael in Vinewood Boulevard racing a starlet away from the paparazzi.
Citizens will react to what you do, and if they see you robbing someone they could alert the police, film you, or even try to take you down themselves.
Hunting animals.
Customization
Player customization - tattoos, haircuts, clothing
Vehicle customization - paintjobs, wheels, window tints, grills, spoilers, along with robust performance upgrades to suspension, engine, brakes, and more that make meaningful changes to the way vehicles feel and handle
Weapon customization - Silencers, scopes, extended mags, laser sights, and more
Police Encounters:
The classic wanted system will be making a return - with five stars instead of the usual six.
They make the police encounters sound better, too. In this new game, we can still try to escape the circular zone that flashes on the mini-map when cops come after our malcontent protagonist(s). But, this time, we’ll be able to try to hide inside that alarm radius, if we’d like. The cops will use a line-of-sight system, so they won’t just magically know where you are. If they have a helicopter in the sky, they’ll be able to see plenty. And you’ll see them use hand signals to communicate what they’re doing.
- Kotaku Skill Categories:
Each character is rated in a series of skill categories: Stamina, Shooting, Strength, Stealth, Flying, Driving, Mechanic, Lung Capacity.
Each character has a ‘Special’: Franklin is an adrenalin junkie and can slow down time while driving; Trevor has a frenzy mode, where he does double damage, takes half damage, and has a unique melee attack; Michael has his own version of bullet time
Specials are governed by a meter, it drains after use and recharges slowly
Other skill categories are shared and can be improved by completing missions, side missions, activities and more
Trevor will always be the best pilot, Franklin will always be the best driver but each can improve their proficiency a little
One of the skill categories is stealth, suggesting players will be able to take different approaches to missions
Map
Similar to previous GTAs, the map isn’t landlocked (surrounded by water).
The map 3.5 times the size of Red Dead Redemption in terms of playable area above ground. Five times if you count underwater area.
The geographical scope is huge and spans:
Mountains
Rivers
Lakes
Military bases
Farmland
Desert
Dense urban environments…and more
An underwater ecosystem exits, “the sea is teaming with fish and sharks”
A deer and a wildcat were spotted in the mountains.
Treasures can be found underwater, but NPCs will be looking for them too
Shipwrecks, sharks, hidden treasures and more could be found underwater
The entire world is populated with fitting wildlife and inhabitants unique to specific areas
Heists/missions
‘Mini heists’ are used to teach the player about preparation. Players must secure vehicles, outfits, masks, the getaway vehicle.
These build up to a bigger heist where the execution must be flawless. They’ll require the right crew (which you can recruit) and players will have to decide on the cheap option, which results in less skilled people, or paying more for skilled crew members that will take a larger cut of the money.
These additional characters will be able to specialize in different areas such as wheelman, gunman, technician, and so on.
Hiring the same crew members across several heists (assuming they survive) will allow their skills to improve
There will be visual and audio alerts from your other characters so you’re not completely caught off guard in case things get hairy.
You can attack targets by stealth or brute force. This will affect the content of the heist.
A huge payout to split between the crew
After-action report that tallies your total cash haul, each surviving member’s cut, and any profit you managed to earn
Refinements to combat:
Weapon selection has been overhauled: You now select your weapons from a weapon wheel.
Fluidly run and gun from the hip while still maintaining complete control of the reticule
‘Combat jog’ that allows you to move at high speeds with your weapon out, but not raised.
Camera pulled back when zoomed in over the shoulder to open up players’ field of vision
Combat roll to move strategically from cover and evade incoming fire
Reticule switches from white to red to identity an enemy
Tiny ‘X’ flashes over the reticule when targeted enemy is killed
Variable targeting options including free aim, soft lock, and hard lock (similar to Max Payne 3)
Smoother transitions when moving in and out of cover
-
General
The character selection wheel is split into four triangles: Franklin, Trevor, Michael, andyour multiplayer character
Some boats will include gear such as wetsuit, flippers and tanks for diving
GTAV rewards exploration, there’s no signposting underwater, so you’ll have to find the treasure the hard way
Dives won’t offer massive payoffs, but will “help grease the wheels”
Pressing Down on the d-pad will drop the play in and out of multiplayer.
There are subtle differences in the way each character moves to reflect their personalities; Michael is slower and deliberate.
Rockstar says there will be five times as many pedestrians in GTAV as there were in Grand Theft Auto IV
There’s a “crazy level of detail”: Tourist buses can be boarded for a tour of celebrity homes, film posters are plastered on the walls, men in comedy costumes try to corner you outside the Cathay Theatre, including the Superman-like Impotent Rage and Master Chief riff, Space Ranger.
You can switch between Franklin, Trevor and Michael during a cutscene, manually, or automatically when the AI takes control for you
Each character has a job to do, how much you switch yourself in or let the computer do, is entirely up to you
If you die the game reloads to the last checkpoint, even if two other characters are alive
Although it’s up to the player when they switch, dialogue will suggest ideal moments. For example, when Michael and Franklin are being overwhelmed by snipers, Michael might ask for Trevor’s help.
There is a wider field of vision, and players can run-and-gun
There are some restrictions to character switching, such as how you can’t abandon a character while you have a Wanted Level. Lose the heat first! The character selection meter will let you know when you can swap out.
Michael’s obsession with classic films translates into in-game set pieces based on real world movies. In the demo the three characters mount a heist very similar to the one from Heat.
Fun Facts:
Franklin alone has more textures than the entire ped population of GTA: San Andreas
Largest selection of vehicles in any GTA game
Largest selection of weapons in any GTA game

Rockstar Answers GTA V Questions Regarding Characters, Customization, and Console Installation
Written by: Daniel Kayser | July 02, 2013 at 10:47AM
Rockstar has today posted a special edition of its "Asked & Answered" feature which revolves around some frequently asked questions pertaining to the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto V. Amongst the tidbits of information included in the piece are the facts on switching characters in the game, customizable weapons and vehicles, installation requirements on consoles and more.
When asked about the ability to switch between the game's three main characters within the game. Rockstar had the following to say:
Michael, Franklin and Trevor have their own separate lives with their own sets of friends and acquaintances, and even their own preferred ways of spending their free time. When you’re not on a mission, you can freely switch in real-time to any of the three characters to drop in and out of their lives letting you see what they’re up to. And because they have their own schedules, you’ll never know what they might be doing – you might drop in on Michael in the middle of a family dispute, interrupt Franklin chatting up some ladies, or Trevor on the run from the law – or whatever else these guys do in their free time… How and when you switch between characters when you’re not on a mission is completely up to you.
In addition, each of the guys has their own missions and side jobs. There will be times on a mission when you play as one character, or as combinations of two of them, and sometimes as all three, always being able to switch between the characters mid-action. Off mission, it’s up to you. You can play as one character on his own or hang out with either of the other two or both of them, or you can switch between any of them.
As for customization options in GTA V, Rockstar's reply to a user submitted question was vague but promising:
Without going into detail just yet, we can tell you that both will be very customizable – with a range of weapon upgrades as well as some very deep car customization. Stay tuned for more very soon.
Oh, and it appears that this game is gonna be rather large as it has installation requirements on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. From the post:
Grand Theft Auto V is the largest and most ambitious game we have yet created, and takes full advantage of every ounce of processing power available in the current generation of consoles. In order to provide the best possible experience for such a massive and detailed world, the game will have installation requirements on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems.
For Xbox 360, Grand Theft Auto V will ship on two discs; Disc 1 will be used for a one-time mandatory install and Disc 2 will be used to play the game. After the install, players will be able to enjoy both Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online without any need to switch discs.
This initial install will require an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space. If using a USB flash drive it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use. A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance. For PlayStation 3, the game ships on one disc and will install content as soon as you insert the game. The install is roughly 8GB, and players will be able to play as soon as the install is complete.
The post also states that details on the game's multiplayer are "coming soon" and that we should get some actual gameplay videos in the near future as well.
So, head on over to the post's official page to read up on what's what as we collectively await the game's September 17th release on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. -
^^ here is the actual full article.. oh btw this thread needs to be stickiedHere’s a special edition of Asked & Answered addressing just a few of the frequently asked questions we’ve seen out there from fans recently. Of course we’re aware that there are many more questions and curiosities out there about GTAV, so do stay tuned for more to be revealed about the game in due time. Meanwhile, you can always feel free to drop us a line via mouthoff@rockstargames.com where we’re glad to have a look at what you have to say and help out wherever we can.
“So can you switch characters? Trevor Michael and Franklin - can you play all of those guys? And everybody has their own missions???!” – @GTAVISBEST
"How is changing between characters going to work during missions?" – HIBMFL
“Do you have to switch characters constantly?” – killer772
Michael, Franklin and Trevor have their own separate lives with their own sets of friends and acquaintances, and even their own preferred ways of spending their free time. When you’re not on a mission, you can freely switch in real-time to any of the three characters to drop in and out of their lives letting you see what they’re up to. And because they have their own schedules, you’ll never know what they might be doing – you might drop in on Michael in the middle of a family dispute, interrupt Franklin chatting up some ladies, or Trevor on the run from the law – or whatever else these guys do in their free time... "If I play as Trevor, can I zoom out, find out where Michael is, and then go and ? him while playing as Trevor? #GTAV" – @GTALAD4EVA
In the open world, the characters are meant to be living their own ongoing and unpredictable personal lives, so understandably it’s not always easy to track one of them down in the vast city of Los Santos or the many towns spread about Blaine County at any given moment, but you will be able to find them. Having found them, (or simply after calling them up and arranging to meet them), you’ll certainly be able to hang out with them, annoy them should you choose, and maybe even assault them, but you won’t be able to ? them. They all have remarkable powers of recovery and good health insurance. The game is based on playing all sides of these three characters’ interwoven stories rather than having generic, interchangeable leads, so permanently killing a major character in that way wouldn’t make sense. If a player is determined enough though, they may well find a way to badly injure one of the characters and switching to that character would just put you in the hospital to continue where you left off.
“Hello, I noticed that the Special Edition of GTA V includes a large "blueprint" of the map. I was wondering if the Standard Edition of GTA V will include the traditional folded paper map that, as far as I can recall, has always been included with GTA games.” – received via Mouthoff
"Will a GTA V poster be included when the game is purchased?” – @ny718kid
As in all previous Grand Theft Auto games, we’ve made a point of including a map of the world to aid players in navigating the city. In all versions of GTAV, the game disc will accompany a map with all the details players will need to navigate the world. One big change though with this game is that with a world of this size, we created a double-sided map based poster to make sure players have all the information they might need to discover and explore the world. The blueprint map in the other editions does contain plenty of additional information and secrets on it.
“My name is Pedro and I have a doubt. When are you going to release the pre-order links of the Special Edition and Collector's Edition of Grand Theft Auto V on Brazil?” – received via Mouthoff
Hi Pedro, we’re working hard to make the Special Edition and Collector’s Edition available for pre-order in Brazil as soon as we can. We’re currently waiting on some customs issues to be resolved before retailers in Brazil can start accepting pre-orders. To all others who have questions about whether and where the Special Edition or Collector’s Edition is available in your particular country, we’ve been maintaining the www.rockstargames.com/V/preorder page to be as up to date and accurate as possible for all territories shown – if you have additional questions beyond that, feel free to hit us up at mouthoff@rockstargames.com and we’d be happy to investigate for you.
“Would you be able to tell me to what extent are weapons and vehicles customizable?” – @kieranmgklaceup
Without going into detail just yet, we can tell you that both will be very customizable – with a range of weapon upgrades as well as some very deep car customization. Stay tuned for more very soon.
“Rockstar, how many discs will the Xbox and PS3 versions of the game have? I am asking because I am just conscious of how many discs I will have to install onto my Xbox 360 HDD.” – cj67890
“Hi R*, as you said GTAV will be the biggest game that Rockstar ever created, normally it should be the biggest in size too. So how you are going to solve Xbox 360 disc limit issues? I mean will GTAV have many discs (on Xbox 360 platform)…?” – youtubos
“If we install GTAV on Xbox 360 do we have to insert other discs or not?” – Persian-boy1995
Grand Theft Auto V is the largest and most ambitious game we have yet created, and takes full advantage of every ounce of processing power available in the current generation of consoles. In order to provide the best possible experience for such a massive and detailed world, the game will have installation requirements on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 systems.

“Will we ever see some GTA V gameplay?” – @ASTR4Lx
Yes. Soon (or in September if you don’t want to see it before you play it… it’s up to you) – the first Official Gameplay Video is on its way...
“Hey Rockstar, I'm curious whether you are planning on releasing GTA V on the PC...” – received via Mouthoff
“You've probably been asked before, but is GTA V coming for next gen consoles also?” – @tomtoon2010
The only versions of the game that we have announced are for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 which are set for a September 17th worldwide release. We don’t have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now. -
When will we get information on GTA V multiplayer?” – @camronbnl3
Expect to hear some first details soon – it’s called Grand Theft Auto Online and we’re very excited to unveil it for you sometime this summer.
“A healthy GTAIV multiplayer game is really hard to come by nowadays. By healthy I mean players play for good clean fun. Every time I join a game it's either modded or hacked. When I create a custom game, some abusive d*ck joins my game and ruins everyone's fun game. I can't just kick him out unless everyone votes. Do something about this in GTAV, Rockstar.” – received via Mouthoff
Ever since Grand Theft Auto IV was released, we’ve continued to integrate newer and stronger methods of cheat detection and prevention for each of our games. While we have yet to reveal specifically what new anti-cheating measures we have planned for GTAV, rest assured that we’re focused on creating as level a playing field and as fair, fun (and healthy as you say) an experience as possible for everyone. There will always be some people who want to cheat but we are going to do our best to stop it. We have spent a lot of time and effort making an incredible Online experience and proper support is part of that package.
“Hello Rockstar, I have a question: how much difference will there be between the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game?” – received via Mouthoff
Players can expect the same great gameplay experience on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms as they have both been developed in tandem. Like all of our games, trust that we’re committed to making sure Grand Theft Auto V looks and runs as great as possible regardless of whether you pick it up for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, and we are excited for fans on both platforms to experience Grand Theft Auto V this September. We expect any visual differences to be completely negligible.
“I smell a delay...” – SanViceCity
“Hope R* will release this game on September 17th. HOPE it will no be delayed AGAIN.” – creed_20103
There’s nothing to worry about, so we aren’t quite sure what you’re smelling! GTAV will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th. -
