    My ? still raggedy, tho.

After paying 30,000 for private school, putting money into my 401, and my kids stocks and savings accounts, I'm broke. That number looks big, but trust me... It ain't.

Owner/Operator so the sky is the limit for me. I just sat one of my uncles in my truck and my other uncle is in his and they make the runs while I stay at home and go to school to be an electrician and work there as well.

Overall my truck after overhead and expenses and paying my uncle will make me about 32 grand and my job as an apprentice electrician will make me like 24. So about 56 all together.[/quote

    @dallas' 4 eva

you dont do electrical. if you do youre a "rat"!

I did my 4 years man i couldn't stand taking orders from ? dumb as ? with 15 years in

I was gonna do 4 and go but I realized how easy the game is. I mean somebody from Newport got to make it till the end.

I was done at the 10yr mark, right before they hit me with that indefinite ? . Made the most of my time in, and made an easy transition to the civilian (GS) side.

The allure of being retired at 38 got me to stay. Get out with twenty years experience and a degree in the same field. Sounds good if it all pans out.

When I was teaching I knew a ROTC teacher who was getting retirement checks from the army while getting a teachers which was like 43 grand at the time. And once he retires again, hell get his army check and retirement teacher check. lol.

from what im seeing....alot of you ? got talents.

yall need to step into the entrepreneurial circle and make that top dollar loot.

so better question is ...how come you ? aint working for yourselves?

I did contract work for a few years ....made my own rules but worked hard for every penny. Left it for the job I have now.

The state retirement package and benefits cannot be matched . I have years vested from my old job and since I'm grandfathered into the package .....I can't turn it down. I'll be retired with full benefits in about 13 years.

I can always do my non profit dream then or get rehired and double dip from the state.

So, once im done with school. Ill be making 48-50K starting for teaching high school students.

I can go into special ed and make more BUUUUUT I don't have enough patience for that. :(

Sadly, special education teachers get 17,500 to pay for their school loans, math/science teachers get 40k to pay back school loans, and english/art teachers like myself get 5k. 5 ? thousand dollars!

    :( fml.

Nah, I commend you for going into that field. It's hard work dealing with kids at that age, and it's one of the most thankless careers.

    Props.

Thanks. My dream is to work in an inner city school because I was a product of inner schooling. I want to help young black an latino children to be inspired, and grow as successful young men and women. Plus, with the 12 month contract a ? gone be off with pay for 3 months and when I become tenure, I can be a ? teacher (jk)... oooowww!

I found out high school counselors with a Masters degree starts off at 75-80k a year.
I had the worst high school counselor, she was sooooo ? racist. booo!
