Jay-ZI like Ghost music but Jay along with Nas, Pac, Rakim, etc are a handful of the mc's who are definite top 10 material. Ghost ain't nowhere near no top ten rapper, he ain't even the best mc in Wu, that goes to GZA.

Ghostface KillahIt's not close to me. Ghost releases quality music every time. JayZ is real hit or miss nowadays.
... I really don't see how dudes can still be a fan of JayZ, when he's digressed so much. That's like Kobe coming back averaging 12ppg and his fans still fronting like he's good. Or like instead of Jordan playing for the Wizards for a couple of years, he played on the Wizards for half of his career. JayZ fans need to let it go.
He use to be good, but he's been wack for a minute now.
... Or maybe y'all just think Ghost is wack lol. -
Ghostface KillahPlease tell me what rapping skill Ghostface has over Jay, I'm curious.
You really wanna go there stanley??
Ok.
Delivery - Ghostface... As many flows as Jay has come with they never packed the punch of a Ghost verse. I never seen a rapper with the same type of energy as Ghost.. sure you got your Busta Rhymes and Mystikals but it feels more like they're yelling at you while Ghost ? is smooth and controlled. Jay usually was more laid back with it, which could at times be boring.
Flow - Jay.. This has obviously always been Jay's strongest suit when he was in his prime although recently it deteriorated. When Jay was in his prime it reminded me of a point guard dribbling the rock. He had a crafty finesse flow and he was very versatile although he usually stuck with one flow per song while Ghost would be all over the place with it.. This is Jay's specialty. Neither of their rhyme schemes are too complex on the surface but Ghost has some advanced ? if you look at it in-depth.
Lyrics - Ghostface... This is easy. Jay repeated the same ? a lot of times. If we're putting lyrics under the content category like we should, which isn't to be confused with technical skills, Ghost is blowing Jay out the water. Lyrically, he touched on so many more topics than Jay. You could almost probably make a word pool for Jay off of 2 albums that he would use through out his catalog. And on the more technical side, Ghost used a lot more literary tools in his rhymes. I also think it's funny that Jay came out with a book called Decoded when his bars were mostly always understandable so I don't see why it was necessary, where people are still trying to decipher Ghost's ? .
Storytelling - Ghostface... Jay is a decent storyteller but not in the same league. Ghost's ? was so vivid and told in a completely unique manner. You can see the whole story in your head. Also he had a much wider variety of stories than Jay.
Originality - Ghostface... This is a no brainer. It's all about approach and that's something that no one could replicate Ghost in. My son will be rapping all types of onomatopoeias in his verses, basically doing anything he can to capture the listener. It can be argued that Jay was original with his verses too despite the redundant content but think of an Andre 3000. That's the type of original Ghost gives you with his verses. No way anyone else would have thought of it like that. ? will blow you away.
Wordplay - Ghostface... Y'all might be surprised I'm going with Ghost because I think Jay is also top 5 in this category but I think people become too focused on his double meaning bars (entendres). While no doubt Jay is extremely witty, I would have to say that half the time those entendres are kinda pointless because the second meaning will be some stupid unrelated ? if not both meanings. Not trying to take away from him because that's a skill in itself but it's a lot more to wordplay than just that. Ghostface puts words together in crazy ways and actually plays off them.
Voice - Ghostface... Jay got that Parkinsons disease flow with the Steve Urkel voice right now that can get to be intolerable. Honestly, Jay never had a good rapping voice. ? just sounds bland with no flavor. Ghost on the other hand, got a voice that is perfect for melodic portions of the track. It's easy on the ears.
Emotion - Ghostface... I'm sorry but anyone who has a soul in their body isn't gon tell you they can feel Jay's ? more than Ghost. Ghost got verses that'll make you break down. I would even venture to say that any individual that can't feel a Ghost verse over a Jay verse is an untrustworthy individual who would never be welcome in my home.
Hits - Jay... Jay makes more commercially successful music by a long shot. It isn't an easy to maintain the level of skill that Jay did while still being able to crossover. Gotta applaud him for finding that balance.
Production - Jay... Ghost's production was always on point but Jay got the perfect ear for beats and his sounds are probably more balanced.
Songwriting Ghostface... This includes not just hook making but also the overall versatility of Ghost. Listen to his girl joints b. Like I don't even need to elaborate on this.
Catalog - Ghostface... Being 100% truthful, Ghost's worst album is better than half of Jay's albums period. and I believe Jay has a top 15 catalog with a couple classics and some great bodies of work. Ghost ? is just too thorough. He has a top 3 catalog easily. Iron Man >>> Reasonable Doubt. Supreme Clientele > Blueprint. Fishscale >> American Gangster. This shows that Ghost was a better rapper for pretty much every phase of his career.
I'm not trying to tear down one artist to big up another but this is just a case of one GOAT being a better RAPPER than another GOAT. You can like one more than the other easily and even say one is greater legacy wise but never ever ever in your life try to dismiss Starks as a goat.

Unless you're taking it back to the 80s, I don't see how you can name 10 emcees nicer than Ghost. Especially since Ghost has the longevity, the impact, and the quality music. -
Ghostface KillahAyo y'all hear that Mega and Ghost song? Mega used that Magic, Worthy line that Jay used on Magna Carta and yall were gassin over 10 years ago. I remember I copped that Legal Hustle album in middle school.

Jay-ZTelling someone to lay down because they don't want to take part in an argument is ? ??? Lmao I'm convinced y'all never engaged in conversation outside the Internet in real life. Like y'all socially awkward.
Right because telling other grown men to "lay down ? " in the real world is seen as a straight thing to say to each other....smh

If taken in the proper context and you aren't thinking about ? ass ? yes. I'm calling you a ? and I'm saying "Hey you can't back up your arguments so lay down". And your first thoughts are about laying down on a bed of flowers huh weirdo? -
Jay-ZJay way better but i expect Ghost to win on the IC
-
Jay-ZAgain more ? ? but I'm guessing you tell yo friends in real life to lay down and don't find a problem with it so gone head bruh do you I don't judge....
-
Ghostface Killah? gotta be objective Ghostface is the better rappa
Jigga don't tell stories like Ghost do.'All I got is you' is one of the most heartfelt songs Ever.Ghost blazes tracks and tells dope stories and his vocab is sick. -
Ghostface KillahLol butta puttin ot in this thread
-
Jay-ZGhostface is better but I pick Jay to not see him get blown out.
Ghostface catalog and rapping skills>>>>>>>>>Jay-Z -
Jay-ZI love Tony Starks But This ? is absurd
-
Ghostface KillahFirst things first, folks need to acknowledge the difference between a rapper and an entertainer. Jay-Z can probably sell out more stadiums than Ghostface, but most of Jigga's fans are sheep anyway who always will eat up whatever he spoon feeds them. Ghostface might not sell out stadiums, but I find that he has more replay value to me personally and lyrically is superior to Jay-Z who hasn't been dominant since the Black Album (Coincidentally about the time I started to stop checking for Jay. "Otis" was cool, but I heard Papoose flip on that beat and liked Pap's verse more than Jay's)

Post a Ghostface quotable right now off the top of your head, i bet you can't. The random gibberish the ? spits ya'll call lyrics, ? please. Ghost flow is dope, so is his delivery, and storytelling but the ? don't be spitting lyrics like that. Plus damn near all the ? albums are carbon copy of each album, just soul samples and storytelling. -
Jay-ZIt's the same ol thing nikkas love the underdog.

This right here to me is the hallmark of a ? rap fan. "Post a quotable." As if a hot line makes a great rapper. Ghost got hot verses, songs, and albums. Who gives a ? about a quotable? And if all Ghost's albums are carbon copies of each album then what do you say about Jay, because 80 % of all of his albums is the exact same subject matter.
I'll give Jay that he's had more of an impact on the game as a solo artist and he's a better technical lyricist, but Ghost has a more versatile and better flow, is a better storyteller, is more creative, has the better catalog, and has gotten better over time while Jay has gone in a direction that only the best caped of his crusaders will defend. -
Jay-ZJays 3 best LPs RD BP1 Life and Times Hard Knock Life vol2 or maybe Black album vs Ghost best 3 Ironman Supreme Clientele and umm.
.Bullet Proof Wallets? -

a quotable out of context wouldn't be good, Ghost isn't that kind of MC you need context to grasp what he saying but at the same time....
? are trippin though, Ghost raps with no form at times and its total stream of consciousness stuff that really seems to make no sense. The ? rhymes and its well delivered but he really aint saying ? .
