I've seen that term get thrown around a lot and sometimes I agree/disagree. So when you hear a song what makes you come to the conclusion that a rapper killed another on a song?

if one MC does more with the concept...
has better/more memorable bars... -
Listen to "Beast from The East" by The Lost Boys. It came out in early 97.
After you listen to that song you can close the thread -
Twista on Po ?

Canibus murdered that song so bad. -
when that rapper was just better. lyrically abs delivery was better.
-
when you prefer skipping the lead rapper's verse when it comes on just to get to the featured artist
-
J cole on trouble comes to mind
K dot on control most recent -
When someones verse outshines erebody elses to the point no one even mentions the others.
or when its the general consensus that the featured artist had the better verse on the song.

In my opinion, you can't ? someone on a track unless your in the studio together. There's no pressure when you send someone music and they send it back. I miss the 90s

? idk fam, an ill verse is an ill verse. ? biggie sat around and got ? n high while bone made their verses and layed his weeks later on notorious thugs.
-
when its not even debatable who had the best verse...when there is a clear winner in your opinion

Twista on Po ?
i was thinking the same thing. i don't even know why do or die even featured him on tracks bc he stayed outshining them.

Deck on "Above the clouds". G Rap on Mobb Deep's "The Realest". Don't know how these both Havoc and P could hae topped G Rap's verse. Pac on most tracks on "Still I Rise". Pac on most collabo joints with Thug Life.
A few years ago Eminem on "Forever".

Jay Z made an interesting point that before Nas' "Ether" line " eminem murdered you on your own ? " listeners never thought about who killed who or out did the other. They simply just enjoyed the collab.

Pac and DMX stayed murking ? on tracks. Other rappers on the same track were good, but they were not fading Pacs or DMXs delivery.
-
Back in the 90's when Canibus said "? u cant even shine on a song that features me".....that was an accurate-ass statement for real...who didnt get murdered on song with him....and he traded versus witha bunch of reputable emcees.
