She aint lying
nothing wrong with being sexy.. but men are blocking females with something more 2 say, because they want to see a peep show. Male hormones has taken over the game. some people even think there is no such thing as a sexy female writer with profound lyrics... "? must not have created her" she don't exist. The only thing that exist is a rhyming sex kitten. I can't even blame lil kim, she was just talking about her life. But every since her. the men want to remake her, she was their fascination.

Nobody says there's anything wrong with Female lyricist, its just that nobody cares.
This is a very thick glass ceiling that should never be broken.
Y'all were saying the same thing about White Rappers a few years ago (as did I) and then look what happened and how everything that came outta that era turnt out.
Hip Hop doesn't follow trends, it sets trends. Women dominating the game wouldn't be anything more than exploiting Hip Hop just becuz we have the power/luxury to do so. -
And ftr Im in love with Nicki Minaj I literally believe she's the greatest female Rapper of all time (and I would put quadruplets in that).
But I'd never buy or download her albums. She's the perfect commodity. She can spit, she looks good, and she has a voice and a following like no other. But that's where it stops and that's Okay - that's perfectly fine.
Black Males don't own anything in America verses literally everybody else (including Black Women). We should atleast be able to call Hip Hop our own. -
Of course you like Nicki Minaj, she's light skinned

Right, let's see. MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Salt N Pepa, Lauryn Hill? Nah, Black Lady Gaga and her wacky accents are miles ahead of all them. -
Nicki Minaj is my favorite rapper in the game right now. I could watch her videos for hours.

Lyte was cool but she was a token. Latifah was always more of an actress than a Rapper so let's stop actin like she was Out Here like that.
Salt N Pepa were corny. Let's stop actin like they were all that nice just becuz they were one of the first. Enough already
Lauren Hill dropped an album and a half with that whole album being just as much if not more singing than Rapping. Stop it -

I call it like I see it. Some of y'all are so quick to get defensive or just say anything for the sake of just saying anything I have no other choice but to do what I do. One ? 's still mad I called bluff about the Lupita craze, a broad absolutely none of us will remember in 5 years lol
So uh, sit back and prophesize what I'm saying
That dream isn't as green on the other side as u think.
So uh, let's stop fakin on giving Nicki her props like some old ass crusty ass bitter ass cowards. And let's stop actin like any of us are really about to put female rappers in regular rotation.
We don't have to support everything everybody we know of says. Its bad enuf we do it half assed all of the time already. -

Well, Salt N Pepa didn't write their own rhymes. Herbie Luv Bug wrote and produced everything. But the quality of the music was dope. Salt N Pepa's first album was a solid Hip Hop album when it came out in 1987. I remember buying it the same day I bought Public Enemy's first album, Yo! ? Rush The Show. The whole album bangs but they didn't write it.
You say "Lyte was cool but she was a token". Cosign. She didn't write her own lyrics either but she had a few jams most notably "10% Diss" and "Cha Cha Cha" which came out when I was in high school
But you're wrong about Queen Latifah. She had a handful of jams on her first album;
"Princess of the Posse"
"Wrath of My Madness"
"Inside Out"
"Queen of Royal Badness"
"Latifah's Law (original and remix)
and of course the single "Ladies First" (feat Monie Love).
I strongly suggest giving those songs a fair listen. The beats are unbelievable in a Just Blaze/Kanye West kinda way. DJ Mark the 45 King was known for sampling rare funk/soul records and had a sound that was very distinct. Queen Latifah wrote her own rhymes and the album was like a precursor to Lauryn Hill's album 10 years later. She sang and rhymed and when she was kicking rhymes her verses stand the test of time right alongside Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and Kool G Rap from the same era.

I believe u about Latifah and I'm already hip to Salt N Pepa.
Thing is I still don't give a ? . I'm not going to start to prefer darkskinned women to lightskinned women and I'm not about to throw FeMCees in regular rotation and neither are most people.
That doesn't mean I think darkskinned women are ugly (for the most part) & that doesn't mean I don't think a ? can't Rap. I'm just going to keep it real (like y'all should) and let the abnormal tickle my fancy whenever it hits that spot. Not becuz of a ? agenda. I'm a Lion, not a sheep. I'm a Shark, not a plankton -
I get it. Honestly, I just went to Youtube and gave those Queen Latifah songs a listen. The beats are dope but, maybe you had to be there.
And yeah, listening to females rap is like watching WNBA.
Only difference is that Queen Latifah sings her choruses and I'd rather listen to a girl sing over a guy any day of the week. -
I agree. But I didn't have to be there. Timeless music is timeless music.
-
"U.N.I.T.Y" is a classic doe.
That doesn't mean I have to buss out a Queen Latifah mix cd.
Peace doe bruh -
Alot of females didn't write all of their rhymes. They Say Nicki's Fiancee writes her ? ..hell alot of the male MC's we praise didn't write all their rhymes either..So we can't use that to discredit.when it comes to Female MC's...Lyte is like their Rakim...Gotta give that to her..

Female MCs these days are better off being porn stars and strippers.
