never heard someone say they can't understand NY rappers

This thread should have been called "nimble tongue rapping ass NY ? vs. slow drawl rapping Down South ? ..seems more fitting.
But you're wrong @qtipp73...I think we had this similar discussion in the miracle lyrical thread..it's understandable, but does it profit the entertainment of the listener? Or is it objectivity? Or is it plain ignorance of the consumer because they don't like double /triple entendre and big ass words?
We'll see in this thread. -
Im stationed in Jacksonville, FL and a lot of people are from the southern states. ? always be like NY ? too lyrical and I just wanna party and chill. I be like old NY club records go harder than this new southern and midwest ? but because theres actual thought process behind the lyrics its too advanced for the setting?

it isnt, and u a fool if u think people aint smart enough to comprehend that lil ? . and yall ? do have accents, and females up there do too, ? soundin yo sun ass hoes. there are plenty of down south dudes with substance, complex flows and double/triple entendres. ? u be around just dont wanna hear that ? in certain situations i suppose. and these last few years when up north rappers have tried to pander to the people who wanna hear chill laid back celebratory ? , they have failed because they ? comes off as too contrived and corny.
it aint that some up north music is too advanced or that some down south music is too simplistic/materalistic. it just is wack sometimes, on both sides -
this a troll thread tho so i really just wasted a paragraph.

Living in NC for 8 Months... Also The South is very Religious and they are Republican which naturally causes ppl to be stuck in there ways and not open to new ideas. -

The people actually listening aren't republican though and most are only pseudo religious and are not going to reject a song based off of their religious beliefs. -
if you aint K.B. & Lil Flea or Pharoah you aint sh*t

How many republican hip hop listeners did you meet in the South while you were there?
Plus like avant said, unless your a border line bible thumper, being religious isn't really an issue with anything unless your older... -
People outside of Newyork listen to Ny rap. If they like it. Like Jay z for instance knows how to make songs people all over like. May be frustrating (for some) but Cant force people to listen to nothin.

Everyone around the country generally listens to the same ? (Jay-Z, Kanye, Drake, Kendrick Lamar)
