There are two possible answers: yes or no.

But what if it is ? ? In my view, even if It is still ? , it does not seem that the kind of sanctions that we think are typically justified in cases of ? can be justifiedly applied. After all, we don't normally think that people should be punished when they are forced by another to break the law. If I make a credible threat that I'm gonna shoot you if you don't rob that store, it would be wrong to punish you if you decide to rob the store for that reason. And if that is right, then if make a credible threat to shoot you if you don't have sex with that woman, then it would be wrong to punish you if you decide to have sex with her for that reason -- even if she is opposed to having sex with you, and you have to use force to have sex with her.
If that is right, then since the male slave labors under the threat of some sort of (presumably serious) sanction if he refuses to have sex with his paired partner, it follows that can't he justifiedly punished either.
So it doesn't really matter whether it is ? or not; in either case the male slave can't be punished for what he does.
Yet someone might grant my analysis and still say that joking about 'arranged sexual encounters' -- whether warranting the '? ' label or not -- is no laughing matter. I'm not sure what I would say in response. Certainly though, I should acknowledge that that might still be true despite what I've said. I think I want to think about it some more.
