How do y'all feel about albums with a single producer?

Two of my favorite albums this year (My Krazy Life by YG and ? Pinata by Freddie Gibbs) were either produced mostly or fully by one producer. I feel like the albums have a better flow and cohesion when they're done this way.

It don't matter just as long as the music is dope.
-
I generally like those more than albums with more than 4 producers. I think 4 should be the max.

Usually works out for the best

BE only had one producer.
Also Gang Starr and Jeru's first two albums. Sometimes is works, sometimes it doesn't.
almost all rap albums were produced by one person back in the day. -
All Suave House albums was produced by T-Mixx til the Tela album with Jazze Pha on a few tracks

I prefer one to few producers to make for a more cohesive album.
-
I prefer it
I hate albums that go different directions the whole album
"Is this a compilation?" -
I don't mind a single producer, what I don't like is a gang of guest features.

dat producer gotta produce dat heata
-
just produce an 8.5 and them Texas boyz will do the rest
prefer 8.7-10 -
Love them. The early clipse albums with neptunes doing the production where great

I agree with the OP, solo produced albums for me are sonically cohesive, and generally flow better. Assume the producer gives a lot in terms of musical direction, whilst the MC can focus on the lyrics, and I'm sure they bounce of each other, rather than getting beats emailed in from the hot producers of the moment.
I also guess it depends if the MC has a good ear for beats. Take Jada, dope rapper, but Kiss the Game Goodbye was sonically all over the place, despite having Primo, Timbo, Swizz, Neptunes all on board.

Depends who the producer is

It can give the album a cohesive sound.
The producer has to be versatile enough though... -
Finally a Thread I can fully support. The one producer Concept is vastly under-used. Historically albums with under 4 producers have always been the best.
I'm glad to see somebody else gets it -
I miss the in-house producers. Now everybody trying to get a Mustard beat
Three 6 is my favorite group (along with UGK) but I'll hate to hear Three 6 rapping over a Mustard beat
Everybody need their own sound & form good chemistry to their in-house producers
IMO for example, That's why I feel Mannie is the only producer that can pull back the old Juvenile -
Just for the record, Illmatic was one of the first albums with multiple producers. Prior to Illmatic albums were usually produced by one person. Having several producers worked for Nas in 94 but it hasn't always worked for him.

Some classic material has been produced that way.
-
it's like having a movie with only one director....
-
I thought majority of the time it is 1
