WINCHESTER, Indiana - A former Randolph County teacher’s aide is under investigation after she admitted to having sexual relations with a 16-year-old male student on at least six occasions this year.
Rebecca Nicole Bosworth, 36, of Winchester, was interviewed by detectives from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday after the Randolph County Child Protective Services learned of the alleged sexual relationship.
Although 16 is the legal age of consent in Indiana, a person employed by a school corporation is prohibited from engaging in sexual activity with a student. Therefore a criminal investigation was started.
During the interview with Bosworth, it was found that these events took place at her residence. One occasion occurred while she was still employed by Randolph Central School Corporation; the remaining incidents occurred after she left employment with the school corporation.
According to the law, once Bosworth separated employment with the school corporation it became legal for her to have a sexual relationship with the student. For that reason, Bosworth was preliminary charged with a single count of Child Seduction, a class D felony.
A class D felony carries a potential penalty of up to three years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000. Bosworth was arrested Tuesday and was subsequently released after posting a $5,000 bond.

A female TEACHER is facing aggravated ? and child molestation charges over the alleged indecent assault of a 15-year-old boy.
Victoria Tatum, 24, was arrested at Newton County High School in Georgia on Thursday on felony charges and booked into jail without bond.
Tatum, from Decatur, has been charged with two counts of aggravated child molestation, aggravated ? , and enticing a child.
A worried family member reported the relationship to police on Tuesday, according to the Rockdale Citizen.
The math teacher, who is originally from Pennsylvania, was in her first year of teaching at the high school.
It is not believed that any of the sexual molestation incidents took place on school grounds and have been going on for several weeks.
It is believed that only one student was involved, police said on Thursday.
Tatum was hired by Newton County Schools on July 28 this year. A criminal background check came back negative for charges at the time she was hired.
The 24-year-old has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of both the Sheriff’s Office investigation as well as an internal investigation being conducted by the Newton County School System.
In a statement to MailOnline today, Sherri Davis-Viniard, NCSS spokesperson, said: 'These are very serious charges.
'Newton County Schools is cooperating fully with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office in their investigation. We encourage anyone with information to please contact the Sheriff’s Office at once.'

HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER ADMITS TO HAVING SEX WITH FOUR STUDENTS
Erica Mesa, teacher at Colonial Forge High School in Stafford, Va, was accused of having a sexual relationship with a student earlier this week. But now Mesa has admitted that she has had sexual relationships with at least four male students, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's office.
The incidents began in 2012, according to court documents. Most of the incidents took place in Mesa's home in Fredericksburg, Va, and at least one incident took place in the teacher's SUV. The students range from 16-18 years in age, and two have admitted to having sex with the teacher. Mesa also reportedly sent nude photos of herself to students, and received nude photos from one student.
"I find it so difficult to understand how a situation could happen like this," retired teacher Molly Faulkner told Washington D.C. ABC affiliate WJLA.
Mesa is a geometry teacher at Colonial Forge High School, and has worked with the school district for five years. Her husband of two years, Keith Mesa, also works at the same high school as a social studies teacher. The couple coached the school's volleyball team together. Erica and Keith have been married since July 22, 2012.
Erica Mesa is now on administrative leave from the school pending the outcome of the case.

Marshfield teacher accused of sex crime with student

Documents say that an eighth-grade teacher in Marshfield charged Friday with a sex crime involving a female student had been told twice before by school officials to stop contacting the student.
Johnna Feazell, 46, of Marshfield faces charges in Webster County Circuit Court of statutory ? and attempted enticement of a child. If convicted, she faces up to seven years in prison.
Feazell, who has worked for the district since August 2000, has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to the school district. She is being held in the Webster County Jail on $100,000 bond.
Feazell tried to contact the student from the jail, according to the arraignment sheet in the case. She also told the student that if she "went to jail for 'this' that defendant would ? herself," according to the arraignment sheet.
Mark Mayo, the school superintendent, said Feazell has been the girls' track coach at the junior high and has previously coached basketball and softball.
Feazell was disciplined by the school district about a year ago for "inappropriate conduct" with the student, according to court documents. Administrators told her in writing not to have contact with the student.
Feazell was told in June 2013 to stop texting and writing letters to the student, according to court documents. She was disciplined again, in October 2013, according to court documents.
Mayo said the district disciplined Feazell the second time for what he described as attempted contact. He said that Missouri law required the district to give her time to correct the offense and that he consulted an attorney about what discipline to impose.
"The action we disciplined her for was not sexual in nature," Mayo said.
The district notified law enforcement after the parents of the victim, a 16-year-old girl, went to the high school on Monday and told the principal that they thought Feazell was possibly having a sexual relationship with their daughter, according to court documents.
The girl's mother told an investigator that she found a cellphone that she and her husband hadn't bought their daughter. The phone had only one contact number in it, which matched the phone number for Feazell, according to court documents.
Feazell allegedly had "deviate sexual intercourse" with the victim in October, when the victim was less than 17, and enticed the teen in October 2013, according to court documents.
The girl told an investigator that she had had a "mother/daughter" type relationship with Feazell since she was in seventh grade and frequently went to sporting events and other activities with her.

Montgomery County Mom Has Sex in Car With High School Soccer Player: Police
NBC Philadelphia: A 42-year-old suburban mother of three is accused of having sex with a 17-year-old soccer player. The inappropriate relationship was uncovered when an Upper Pottsgrove Police officer allegedly found Iris Gibney and the teen naked, having sex inside a parked car. The car was illegally parked in Hollenbach Park in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, after closing around 10:30 p.m. Nov. 15. As the officer approached the car, he saw Gibney performing a sex act on the teen, according to an affidavit of probable cause obtained from police.
The 17-year-old Pottsgrove High School student said he met Gibney at a high school football game earlier this year, police said. She had been volunteering as a "cheer mom" for the cheerleading team that her daughter is a part of. Confronted about the alleged affair, the teen told the officer he couldn't lie and admitted he was having sex with Gibney, according to police records. Gibney, who works as an associate at Victoria's Secret in King of Prussia, told the officer, "I’ve never been in trouble before. I can't believe I did this. I have three children of my own — I am so, so sorry," according to the arrest report.
Further investigation revealed Gibney and the teen communicated through Twitter and a public chat room. Gibney then sent the boy several partially nude photos from her cellphone to his, police said. As part of their investigation, police confiscated the boy's phone and found the sexts from the Pottstown woman, investigators said.
Gibney turned herself in Tuesday to be arraigned on charges including corruption of a minor, dissemination of explicit materials to a minor and trespass by auto. She posted $50,000 unsecured bail and left custody Tuesday afternoon, said the Montgomery County District Attorney. She made no comment as she walked to her car. She was back at work Tuesday night and declined to comment when contacted at the retail store. Speaking briefly to NBC10, Gibney's husband said he's upset, hurt and just trying to keep his family together.
She faces a preliminary hearing later this month, according to court records.

The boy is not a student at Riverdale Christian Academy, where Dowden has taught the last two years, He told deputies he had sex with her on the campus. Deputies RECOVERED nude photos of the suspect, as well as sexually explicit text messages before they questioned Dowden on Aug. 21.
At first, Dowden denied the allegations she had sex with a student. Deputies said that changed when they informed her of the content that had been DOWNLOADEDfrom the teen's phone. She allegedly admitted having sex with the victim as well as exchanging nude photos and sexually explicit messages with him, NOLA.com reports. She was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and released a few hours later after posting a $15,000 bond. Five days after Dowden was charged for her alleged sexual relationship with a minor, she was accused of having a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student at Riverdale Christian Academy. Because the student was of legal age, Dowden was charged with prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and student, a misdemeanor.
She allegedly met up with the student during lunch breaks for sex, Casey Rayborn-Hicks, a spokesperson for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, told NOLA.com. After the charges were filed, the school fired Dowden. According to a bio on the school's website that has been removed, she has been married for 10 years. The Rev. Preston Thompson, pastor of Redeemer Baptist Church, which is affiliated with Riverdale Christian Academy, said that when Dowden was hired, there were no red flags raised during the vetting process, the Baton Rouge Advocate reports.

Lewisville police say teacher’s aide at special-needs school admitted to sex with student

Lewisville police say a teacher’s aide at the Lewisville school district’s special-education center has admitted to a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student.
Police say they were notified Tuesday by Lewisville Independent School District officials that one of their employees — 35-year-old Krista Young of Little Elm — “may have had inappropriate contact with a student.” That same day, police say, a detective in the Crimes Against Children division interviewed Young, who works at the Purcell Support Center. During that interview, she admitted that she “had ENGAGED in sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old male student on several occasions in the last couple of months,” according to a release from the department.
Young turned herself in to the Lewisville jail on Friday. She was then arraigned and transferred to the Denton County jail on Sunday, where her BOND was set at $10,000. She’s been charged with improper relationship between educator and student, a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years behind bars and a $10,000 fine. Denton County jail records do not show that she has been released.
Police say the parents of the 16-year-old boy have been working with detectives and the district. Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Lewisville ISD says Young, whose Twitter page describes her as a single mom and video-gamer, was fired on Tuesday.
“Additionally,” police say, “all parents who have students served at Purnell were contacted on the same day.”

Delaware teacher sentenced for sex with student

A former Caesar Rodney middle school teacher who had sex with a 13-year-old student has been sentenced to probation.
Stephanie L. Seabury, 23, must also REGISTER as a sex offender under her sentence imposed Wednesday by Superior Court Judge Robert B. Young.
Seabury could not be reached for comment Friday. But a man who answered at her family’s HOME INHauppauge, N.Y., said to call her lawyer. When asked who the lawyer was he said, “You should be able to find out at the courthouse,” and added, “She’s innocent.”
Seabury, of the Woodmill Apartments, in the 1300 block of S. Farmview Drive in Dover, was an English teacher at Fifer Middle School in Camden.
According to COURT RECORDS, the boy told authorities on March 12 that he had had a sexual relationship with the teacher at her home. During one such encounter on Feb. 26, the boy said he engaged in intercourse with the teacher, according to the court records.
Investigators contacted officials at the school on March 13, who confirmed the victim was one of her students, Dover police said.
Staff also found surveillance footage showing the two leaving the school together Feb. 26 and walking toward Seabury’s car, police said.
Seabury was charged with one count of sexual abuse of a child by a person in a position of trust or authority. On Wednesday, she pleaded guilty to one count of fourth-degree ? , according to the DELAWARE ATTORNEY General’s Office.

SILOAM SPRINGS (KFSM) – The Siloam Springs teacher accused of having sex with a student is heading back to court on Dec. 10, officials say.
Mary F. McCormick, 32, was arrested in August on suspicion of ? and exchanging explicit photographs with a 13-year-old boy. She was later released on a $50,000 BOND. On Sept. 11, she resigned from her job, officials say.
She’ll be back in court for a pretrial hearing on Wednesday, according to officials.
Siloam Springs detectives began investigating McCormick Aug. 8 amid reports she ENGAGED in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a young teenager. The incidents occurred between June and August, according to the Siloam Springs Police Department.
Through the investigation, police said they collected evidence suggesting there was an exchange of electronic messages, photographs and a sexual relationship between McCormick and the victim.
A probable cause affidavit states the two had consensual sex at least twice. Under Arkansas law, “consensual” sex between an adult and an underage minor is considered ? because the minor cannot legally consent.
The encounters began after a friend dared the 13 year old to contact McCormick, the affidavit states. In one instance, the boy and a friend went over to the teacher’s apartment to watch a movie. The friend left, but the 13 year old stayed and later had sex with the teacher in her bedroom, the affidavit states.
The teacher and student sent each other Snap Chat messages of each other’s genitalia during the sexual relationship, police said. A 12-year-old female friend of the victim said she discovered one of the Snap Chats accidentally after borrowing the victim’s phone. The message showed McCormick wearing nothing but a towel, along with sexual comments, ACCORDING to the probable cause affidavit.
Investigators later confiscated two USB THUMB DRIVES, an Apple iPad, two Apple iPhones and a desktop computer in connection with the case. Police said they searched McCormick’s Snap Chat account and found multiple photographs and videos of the victim, along with a photograph of a woman’s ? believed to belong to McCormick.
An eyewitness told police she saw several inappropriate sexual messages and photographs while looking through the victim’s iPhone, including one of McCormick with wet hair while showing her ? . The accompanying text stated, “I’m not ? anymore,” the probable cause affidavit states. The eyewitness said she also saw other messages showing a romantic relationship between the victim and McCormick, the affidavit states.
