Since ppl like to talk about MLK so much. Here's a short speech where he talks about economic equality.

IMO if you fix economic inequality for all it would nearly solve the racial problem. Because at the end of the day most of us dont give two ? what a white man thinks about us. It's just that what the white man thinks happens to negatively affect our means of income (mostly indirectly but not always).
BTW...Well-behaved "black" posters: MLK sounds pretty "Militant" in this post. I know how off-putting it may be for you. Try to survive the clip. I know a lot of you get instant bubble guts when truth is spoken about the U.S. by a black man.

I think so too. this and Vietnam.

OR it was really just that one white dude and there was no conspiracy at all lol

but if it was revealed tomorrow that he was killed because of opposition to black soldiers in Vietnam as well as trying to ? with the white man's money...I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised.

There's no doubt in my mind that as soon as he started talking about group economics and subsequently economic empowerment that he had a target on his back. As for whether or not the government did it...they did and were found guilty when the family sued but you see how much that amounted for because they remain unnamed factions.

This nation does not care about the poor or middle class. The wealth disparity is growing fast. And yhe craziest thing is your jabe broke whites in the south and midwest brainwashed that helping the poor is socialism. It will take a revolution to this nation. You mean to tell me the banks get bailout but millions of poor people struggling cant get help. You have college graduates with heavy debt and struggling. But we spend trillions on defense. Not even a bailout for college students. This country makes no sense.

History NEVER really shows all sides of a person....just the side used to pacify the people and keep them docile.

If black folk TRULY knew what MLK was about (and it wasn't just getting your ass beat for "justice"), we would've been had the "revolution" by now.

He ain't lying because at the end of the day life is about power and everyone is fighting for a slice of the pie. It's why they destroyed black wall street post Emancipation Proclamation. Them crackers saw that we could sustain our own communities and economies and decided to terrorize us. They only want us to be workers and aspire to nothing greater than that. That's the gimmick with trickle down economics, it's like religion. Sell the idiots hope and control them. smh

Any radical thinking black leader who encourage financial or social empowerment they killed. Look what they did to my Jamaican brother Marcus Garvey.

Yep people like to smooth over the fact that MLK was really a radical

Obviously his stance on American imperialism was radical

Than like Malcolm towards the end of his life Martin was very vocal in suggesting that the system of capitalism was the root cause of the oppression suffered by blacks

Luther King was ahead of his time...or is it the time we're living in we're regressing, because he quoted that some 30-40 years ago yet it applies to the ? that is going on today.

The thing is, i don't think we can have equality in a capitalist society. I feel like we are a dog chasing it's tail. The system is set up for a small portion of the people controlling a large portion of the wealth. Then you factor years of racism and sexism. Communism doesn't work either.

It's just a pointless imo. lol The industrial revolution has changed the world but it was necessary due to our growing world. As a result of that we created wealth, power struggle, and class systems. There has to be a in between.

Damn right. With money in your pocket it's way easier to say ? you and step off. When people are in the position to stop paying attention to them, they will cease to exist in their current state because their collective position becomes inconsequential to your progress.

With the American empire, nobody is allowed to exist in parallel. Everybody must depend in order for control to be kept. Whether they flat out take your ? from you, bombard you with drugs, bomb you, or just beat your ass into submission, you gotta depend or die. They have to put you in a state of dependence...then blame you for your state....and if you lash out, civilize you into a suppressed state.

    Preaching empowerment = threat
Being a threat with the influence to empower masses of people to not depend = death

MLK was always a target but the larger his influence grew the bigger threat he became. An uncontrollable threat has be killed before it kills the controls in place.

Not just for blacks empowerment but globally, every country that attempts to exist in parallel and escape dependence becomes an enemy.

    I be tryna tell people...

Racism was manufactured out of necessity to protect capitalism. Wealth inequality couldn't have grown unabated for all these centuries if the lower 99% of earners had been united in their pursuit of common interests.

Classic divide and conquer. Split up the poor and middle class along racial lines and they'll be too busy squabbling to notice that they're all being ? .

Get a bunch of poor whites to drink the kool-aid of so called "white supremacy" and be afraid of the Black boogeymen across town and they'll never notice that they're pawns in the operation. It's how they got poor whites to be on board with slavery even though they could never themselves afford to own slaves and a slave driven economy was against their own interests for economic mobility.

We are not even asking for socialism. Why is it people who work at wallmart have to choose whether to put dinner on table or pay their hospital bill since they have no insurance. Why should there be hungry people in this country when we are the richest country around the world. The people want a minimum wage increase. But they can't. College is expensive as ? and you have millions of graduate saddled with debt that will ? they lives up but the Big banks that ? the econmy to a near depression in 2008 gets a bailout. What should be done is the same focue we put into defense we should put in ending poverty and helping the middle class. As we speak you have Republican govenors and some Democrats thinking about cutting food stamps to millions. But give tax cuts and govt subsidies to rich corporations that do not need them. And now unions are getting waeker and weaker.

In all we need a major revolution and I am not talking about guns. I am talking about students across the country doing mass protest. Storming their local govt state capitols like those countries in Latin America do. We need something like Occupy wallstreet times 100 acorss this nation to scare the elites.

There is never going to be equality it's just not going to happen all we can do as a people is strive to be on top of the pile and increase the percentage of us who become the powerful instead of the powerless. Capitalism is the perfect system for the strong and a struggle for the weak.

what is really going on in the world is an attempt to create a neo Feudalistic system which will be a result of capitalism gone off track and corrupted.

    bruh....

    this.....

but one thing I've learned in my time on this earth is that it's really hard to convince someone they are ignorant of something when they believe you to be completely ignorant.....

but the message will always reach those who it needs to. And with that in mind, this post resonates with me even more....
