Universal Pictures has confirmed a release date for thriller The Purge 3 in 2016.
The third film in the horror series, which expands on the terror that ensues during the 12 annually sanctioned hours that allow citizens to commit any and all crimes, will be released Jul. 1, 2016.
The Purge, which starred Ethan Hawke, hit theaters in May 2013 and The Purge: Anarchy, which featured Frank Grillo, followed a year later in July 2014. Together, the two films earned a successfully frightening $200 million at the worldwide box office.
James DeMonaco wrote and directed the first two and has signed on to write the third film.
Warner Bros.' Tarzan and Buena Vista's The BFG are both slotted to release the same day.

Actually liked both movies
2 was better -
only seen the second one. It was cool. Ill prolly check this one out eventually.

Underrated series. Like Saw, I could see them doing a few of these since it's about a concept and not a character.
-
heard the 1st one was ass so I didn't watch. Bur the 2nd one was Dope. will be checking for the 3rd one
-
The first one isnt as bad as everyone makes it out to be but the 2nd is way better
-
i liked the 1st one. the son was dumb af tho never seen teh 2nd
-
cant wait
-
I think the 3rd maybe the ending of the purge tho
-
Nah, I remember right after the 2nd one came out the producer said they might do a few more of these
-
Wouldn't the ending to the second one mean there's no third?

Can't wait to see this ? . The actual plot/message of these movies went over a lot of people's heads. They were so hung up on this being some "cool" new horror flick that they completely missed the point. I stayed hearing dumb ? like
"what was the point though"
"there's really no story"
"could of had a better story line"
It's obvious it went straight over their heads. And like others have been saying, part 2 >>>. It pushed more of the political side of things to the front. This turned some people off smh. That was actually the best part about it. First movie just basically showed that everybody got an animal in them no matter how you dress it up(rich white society). Second movie really got deep. Like it showed how the purge really only effects the less fortunate aka the hood. The purge is not for the hood, it's for the privilege. If you watch part 2 and then go back and watch 1 again. You can really see that they weren't really in the burbs going ham on people. That was just a small group of people after that family. It was a planned attack too. -

I liked the message. Ppl just prefer to be blind.

So what put you under the impression that it wasn't supposed to be predictable? What kind of movie were you expecting? -
The Rick and Morty episode about the purge >this whole trilogy
