Black Dynamite, the Adult Swim series, has been canceled and will not return for a third season, according to Executive Producer Carl Jones.

Jones made the announcement via Twitter, saying nothing except that it is canceled and not responding to fan comments.

The series was developed based on the 2009 "blaxploitation" parody film by the same name. Michael Jai White, Byron Minns, Tommy Davidson and Kym Whitley reprised their roles from the film in the series, which debuted in 2012. A second season kicked off in October 2014.

    Boondocks? Cancelled.
    Black Dynamite? Cancelled.

Simpson's, Family Guy, and South Park? Running strong for years and years with no signs of slowing down.

    Why?

    Boondocks cancelled because McGruder bailed

Simpsons is in a class of its own. You cant compare it to these other shows. Literally the longest running sitcom in tv history.

I dont ? with family guy or south park so i have no comment for that

    Boondocks? Cancelled.
    Black Dynamite? Cancelled.

Simpson's, Family Guy, and South Park? Running strong for years and years with no signs of slowing down.

    Why?

White people actually sign up to Nielsen ratings,
and have what they are watching on TV counted for in viewership.

    How do television ratings work?
    http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/question433.htm
In the U.S., the term "TV ratings" immediately makes people think of "Nielsen" because Nielsen Media Research has become the de facto national measurement service for the television industry in the United States and Canada.

Nielson measures the number of people watching television shows and makes its data available to the television and cable networks, advertisers and the media.

Nielsen uses a technique called statistical sampling to rate the shows -- the same technique that pollsters use to
predict the outcome of elections. Nielsen creates a "sample audience" and then counts how many in that audience view each program.

To find out who is watching TV and what they are watching, the company gets around 5,000 households to agree to be a part of the representative sample for the national ratings estimates.

Nielsen's statistics show that 99 million households have TVs in the United States, so Nielsen's sample is not very large. The key, therefore, is to be sure the sample is representative.

Yall cant really compare ratings with BD n shows like simpsons n family guy. Those shows come on sunday nite, while BD comes on at 10:30 PM on a ? saturday nite. Most ppl are not home watchin tv on a saturday nite.

Plus BD is more of a niche show imo.

    Why?

Simpson's and South Park have always had high ratings.

Family Guy is around because fans supported it by buying DVDs after it was cancelled twice and watching the show when it came back. The Family Guy series we're seeing now is the third Family Guy series. The first and second time that Family Guy came out it was cancelled.

Black Dynamite never received great ratings.

Boondocks can achieve high ratings, but it's messed up on the business side. The creator of it worked slow and didn't produce a lot of episodes for the show. The show has been on for ten years and only has 55 episodes and these episodes weren't produced back-to-back. The first, second and third seasons each have two year gaps between each new season, and the fourth season has a four year gap between the third season. Cartoon Network and Sony Pictures wanted Aaron McGruder to work faster and produce more episodes, but he didn't.

    Best response in the thread....

    it is what it is...
