Not just telling a story that rhymes a word here or there or end rhymes wrapped in a concept that strikes a cord with you. I'm talking technical skill here: in-rhymes, multis, and end rhymes that all flow together to make a coherent thought.
To that end, my five are T.I., Lupe, Wayne, Treach/Black Thought, and Fab/Banks. Look above subject matter on all of them and just notice the technical skills on some of their ? . They might not have his storytelling or song making ability, but they all could spit a verse on Rap ? that could stand against or above him. -
