Cartoon Network dropped a huge bomb this morning in a recent press release. A lot of major things are happening!
First let’s get into the big news. The Powerpuff Girls reboot is happening and it is set to release sometime in 2016! Last year Cartoon Network released a short special episode of The Powerpuff Girls and it was unknown if the series would actually get a full fledge reboot, until now. Art director Nick Jennings will serve as executive producer on the upcoming reboot of this classic series. Nick is predominately known for co-developing SpongeBob Squarepants and for his work on shows like Adventure Time, Rocko’s Modern Life, and CatDog. There has been no word if Craig McCracken (creator of The Powerpuff Girls) will have any involvement in the reboot. Mr. McCracken is currently directing a series on the Disney Channel.

Fun Fact: CN was planning on making a SAMURAI JACK FEATURE FILM, but the PPG movie flopping at the box office killed that off.

That ? Him was the biggest ? known to television besides Bugs Bunny. For a kids show, I'm surprised Cartoon Network was able to get away with some of the ? he did in the show.
