I think my understanding is correct, but please correct me those who know better....to sum up ? derived from Negus (eventually).. take out the leader/ruler/king first so the people are easy to govern. After further review I still don't know if it's as good as GKMC,but it's certainly an event and he covers a lot of genres,from Gangster,to spoken word,to back packer,to almost pop.
I think it may be bigger than GKMC,but lyrically I felt GKMC was deeper.He played with style a little more on here.
Great album.Him and Cole brought the soul back to hip hop and made it soul music again. -
Glad I let the album breathe a day or so. I didn't really listen to "How much a dollar cost?" first time around. I heard it but wasn't listening. But damn....
