Hey @Texas409 if u get a chance you have to eat at Burgr and Lobster Me (get the lobster on the stick) in Planet Hollywood and there is a hidden pizza joint in Cosmopolitan that is awesome and it stays open until like 4am. it's on the 3rd floor I believe but u can't see it, u have to ask a worker there how to get to it. Its good tho for the late night, I'm ? and hungry meal. -

I probably need a history lesson but in theory the Voter's Rights Act seems like it would have been a bigger accomplishment than the Civil Rights Act. In theory, I don't think segregation would have been racist or even as oppressive if publicly funded schools, libraries, water fountains etc. reserved for black people were of the same quality as those reserved for whites and whites were equally penalized for using black fountains, sitting at the back of the bus etc. as blacks were for not giving up their seats to whites, using white fountains etc. In my opinion, the worst thing about segregation was interracial marriages and 'miscegenation' being legally punishable. Racial issues aside, I can't put the restrictions on voting into 'context' in the same way. If you're an adult and a citizen why do you have to earn the right to vote, it should be your right by default since you pay taxes and are affected by the decisions that people elected into office make. How did they justify that?
I think South African apartheid was way worse than American Jim Crow segregation, to be honest. -
