Man being a kid I remember crackheads ? all over the place. You could be walking or riding down the street and see crackheads ? , ? was crazy. And that's how the prison system blew up too, all those drug offenses, cats were getting 20 to life

It absolutely was. -
My hood is a ghost town but I remember when every house was filled with families. By 93, mfers was moving to the suburbs in droves.
I remember taking a chick to my hood and they walking around like it was a safari. "Talmbout are we safe? Like we are okay right?" Hilarious! -
I wish I could find the documentary I saw on the ? Era, but it was really good. It talked about black neighborhoods were always infested with rampant drug use, but still the people could function and a lot of black neighborhoods were on the rise as far as prosperity goes. They said that the advent of ? practically turned most of those neighborhoods into ghettos damn near over night.

Out of all the changes Obama has done. Getting rid of the disparaging sentencing on nonviolent drug charges will be the biggest accomplishment. -

That is pretty much true though when you think of how some Japanese babies are still being born ? up all these years later. Places where some black people live are still ? up all these years later with people still smoking ? and new people just getting addicted to ? like they didn't see how the ? ? people up. Same with people newly getting hooked on dope to as well though. People just love to get high no matter what it is or the effects of it. -

It's not funny and a lot of the conscious rappers who made anti drug songs will tell you the executives pushed that type of rap to the forefront for a reason to make it cool to be a gangsta and sell drugs aka destroy the black community -

There is a track Ice Cube made called "My Summer vacation," where he is talking about how LA gang memebers were leaving LA to other states like Texas and Oklahoma start selling dope cuz the market in LA was crowded. Did that ? really happened tho? -

Yea just the other day I was listening to Backspin the old school hip hop station on Sirius XM and they played "Self Destruction" and then Ice T "6 In The Morning" back to back and it's interesting to literally hear the transition in subject matter in the same era -

Yeah. When ? act so confused as to why there's Bloods and Crips, GDs, etc all over the country now they forget this ? happened. A lot of gang members moved to different cities and established themselves there and brought gang life with them. -
Ronald Regan and George Bush committed Treason by investing in ? -? and yet some of you ? still invest your time and energy for a "debate" in threads for Views. smh

You clearly haven't read the Brother's resume. Obams is literally the greatest President since Since -
? era sound wild...if worldstar or twitter had been around then...I don't think anybody would even fix their lips to say that things are crazier today than they were before like ppl say sometimes now.

Bad. I lived next door to a ? house and had family that sold and did it. I saw my 1st machine gun getting off the bus at 7 from a ? who just robbed a store, hearing gunshots regularly at night, saw a ? get shot in the head, etc. glad my kids aren't going thru that ? . They're soft like they should be.

It was so bad it had ? running around doing this

If you were born between the years of 1985-1993
There is a 93% chance ? ? was in your system

Imagine just being totally immersed in evil. Imagine every single person you know being affected in some way shape or form. During that time I ran away and stayed with my older Brother. A short time later he got locked up for possession. My neighbor's boyfriend was the main supplier in the hood. All of my uncles and aunts were on it. My best friend's mom used to sale her body to his peers to get it. The police chief would come and cop from dealers on our block. Violence was always there. People were getting killed left and right. residual crimes were happening in front of my eyes constantly... robberies, burglaries, carjackings, shootings.
I saw and felt so much evil during that period that You would think I would stay away. But naw, the lure of money and the adulation that the dealers received attracted me like a magnet. In my mind I reasoned I was too young to get a job, being a runaway I needed someway to support myself. Looking back it was like making a deal with the devil. I swear I have not experienced such darkness in all of my years like I did when I was out there pumping that poison. I felt the changes immediately. Today I liken it to the "I don't give a ? !" motto. I literally gave 0 ? .
Business was brisk, No matter what I left the house with, i would return with nothing but a pocket full of money. Traffic was so constant on our little strip that there was no beefing or fighting over customers. It would literally be 15-20 dudes on a little block no longer than 1/8 of a mile and everyone was getting money. The only real beef during those times went on between the different streets in our neighborhood. If you lived on our street though you could pump from sun up to sun down.
Some of the worst things I've witnessed: I saw a lady who found someones stash get put in the trunk of a car... The car drove off, the lady never came back. I saw this dude named Bat (because he was so black) get shot multiple times, his brain matter on the sidewalk. His blood (a big ass puddle) remained on the sidewalk for weeks to serve as a reminder. The flies, maggots and ants feasted around the clock until there was nothing left to be salvaged. I witnessed the police and fire dept. carrying a woman out of an abandoned house on a gurney. when they got her outside the tarp flew off her body. Her eyes were missing she had holes in her face and body from where the rats began to eat her. The story was her boyfriend stole someones stash. they couldn't get him so they got her. And did unimaginable things to her.
There was a pair of brothers that I used to admire. They always dressed fresh, kept crisp haircuts. Had a beautifull sister. One day they invited me over their house. The whole place crawled with roaches. Their younger siblings ran around in diapers filled to capacity. I asked to use the bathroom. They sent me to the back where it was located. I heard their mom moaning in the bedroom. I peeked, She was in there getting a train ran on her by my neighbors boyfriend and 2 of his underlings. I rushed to the bathroom. The tub was so ? you could grow a garden. The toilet was filled with ? and ? tampons. I no longer had to ? .
I remember the constant sadness of those times. I wanted to cry all the time. for all my friends. for all the people that I genuinely liked getting long prison terms. All the people that died. All the people that were bread winners working at the auto plants having all of the "luxuries" that such a desirable job could buy being reduced to zombies trying to wash windows at stoplights to hustle up that next hit. The little kids whose mother would sell her food stamps. The little girl's mother who came and tried to sell us her Christmas presents while they were still in wrapping paper. The pretty girls being turned into the cheapest of ? , The coolest of older cats being reduced to cowardly punching bags. Seems like I always had that feeling in my chest and felt like my eyes would well up at any moment.
I never got the chance to cry though.

I started working for the city of Philly at 19.. And office jobs with various ages you learn a lot about people.. It was this one ? era "survivor".. She wasn't off ? tho.. She had bobby brown jaw and would just grind her teeth randomly.. I thought it was powder until I stopped being naive.. And she stole everything.. I'm talking bout food out fridge type petty lol.. I thought it was funny but this og at the job was like "that's how crazy the 80s were.. Not every fiend was unemployed.. She been here 20yrs.. She wasn't always unattractive".. I'm 30 now so when I came to it was on the tail end when the game became wide open when ? was getting booked and killed..
