First off, can't believe this ? came out 25 years ago now (and on my daughters birthday/Bigs death, March 9th). Looking back on it now, it was a time capsule of all things hip hop culture in 1990. Never mind that there's some corny parts of the movie here or there, but it's funny to see where things where then compared to now. Even tho Kid n Play in all honestly were wack as hell, they paved the way for all the outside ventures these rappers strive to achieve today for better or worse. Guess I'd like to see ? take on this.

Kid n Play were not wack. kys

Kid won the battle.
Play's 'curfew' and 'tuck ya ass in' line almost ended Kid's career though. -
? a classic to me.

Kid to me was the better of the two hands down. Plus he wrote stuff for Play as well so regardless he was the star of the duo lyrically.

Now that I'm older I'm starting to realize 1990 is more important to hip hop than 1988 or 1994.

I saw House Party in the movie theatre when it came out. I thought it was cool, a lil corny but still a decent movie. Do The Right Thing came out around the same time and was much better but House Party still gets a thumbs up from me.
Having said that, when Kid N Play first came out, their first song was called Last Night. Last Night stands the test of time. The beat still bangs (produced by Hurbie Luv Bug) and the storytelling is vivid. You can picture the whole story.
