Ummmm, I don't get it.. I wonder what would be said if a bunch of white girls wanted to become Deltas or AkAs. This has been a thing for many years, we have white sororities, and we have black sororities. The black girls who usually joking Pi Mu Phi are the ones who either didn't want to join a black sorority or them might think they couldn't cut it. Man these are WHITE GIRLS AT ALABAMA! Why are we shocked about this? Yall know the fallout from this is going to be why aren't black frats and sororities more diverse.

Y'all skipped over an important part of the article though;But another telling feature of the video was the lack of women of color represented. UA saw the largest pledge class in its history on Saturday: 2,261.
Only 214 of the pledges were minorities, according to AL.com.
214 out of 2261 ain't even a percentage point. That's for all the sororities/fraternities on the campus.
Are they the only way to network? Not at all. But for many people, there aren't many other ways to tap into a network that doesn't just go back years, but decades in some cases.
There's a good chance that black students chose to pledge with African-American sorority/fraternity, which would be great. But the fact they couldn't grab a percentage of the black students there is troubling. -
what I really can't imagine is anybody from my generation (I was born in '92) hopping on a bus to go to some white school where they would be greeted by a bunch of crazy enraged hostile white people of all ages and genders and had to be escorted in by army soldiers...
and if they did find somebody to do it everybody woulda been like "them ? crazy couldn't have been me"

The concept of sorors/frats are stupid anyway. It's bad enough people are willing to let other people humiliate and degrade them just to be a part of some silly organization. It would be extra dumb to force your way into one of those organizations, when the members don't want you and don't like you. What could you possibly gain from that?

That's the thing and I don't think it's a case of that white supremacist frat SEA, but a case of these chicks being away from home for the first time and wanting to be around with people with similar experiences and/or interests. Not for nothing, Greek life means more to us, than it does to whites, so the first choice of a sorority for a lot of chicks is pledging to a historically black sorority, (especially at a school like Bama.) I have a little cousin that's going there so I'll have to ask him about that.

We can debate about whether integrating these institutions would be effective, and we can even debate whether we should be trying to do that (e.g. whether it is consistent with our self-respect), but the evidence is clear that black social networks are generally of less value than white social networks. Whites are the ones in power, for the most part, so the value of being connected to white social networks is generally higher than the value of being connected to black social networks. (For example, a white person is more likely to have connections to people higher-up in the corporate hierarchy structure.) That's one of the spoils of their historical advantage secured by black subordination.
So blacks doing our own thing and whites doing their own thing hurts blacks more than it hurts whites.
No mother ? No. Being connected to a white social network does not help you if they don't want you in their network. Self respecting black people would rather build and create our own networks and not beg,cry and grovel at white people until they let us into there's. In any case there is a glass ceiling for ? in these old boys clubs any ? way So you would only get do far.

I saw nothing inherently wrong with the video but that ? is like, THE DISTILLED ESSENCE OF WHITE PRIVILEGE.
A bunch of rich attractive white women with a false sense of entitlement/accomplishment who think life should be all vapid fun, partying, and listening to EDM style songs.
