According to The Tracking Board, "20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment have started development" on a feature film version of the classic Capcom game. Fox and Chernin are also the parties behind the rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise.
Mega Man started in 1987 for the NES and has, in the decades since, spawned dozens of games and sold over thirty million copies. Mega Man has also been adapted for comics, manga, and anime.
Fox had not responded to our request for confirmation, denial or comment at time of publish. We will, of course, update this report should they respond.

Jesus Christ No...smh
They gonna ? it all up if its live action.I can foresee a ? up portray of Bass& Treble/Protoman -
Don't do it
-
yeah because capcom properties always do so well on film

I said it in the Assassin's Creed movie thread. Video game movies are the next blockbusters. The video game generation is getting old enough to make good movies, video games have tons of source material, and there's an established fan base. All the ingredients that pushed great comic movies.

biggest problem with video game movies is that theyre so different form the actual games. i never understood why they changed so much when they make them there's a reason everyone loves the games
-
Can we get a Mega Man game on PS4 doe
-
-
If Zero and Protoman don't make it ? em
-
I'd like to see Emile Hirsch or kid from forbidden kingdom as mega man and kato from green hornet as zero. Might as well.
-
Worth a shot. Im a nostalgic type. If its bad then its bad but if its good then we might get a resurgence of interest in new Mega Man merch and games.
-
since they makin game movies, a legit legend of zelda movie would be dope. I don't know if it's already in the works or not tho.
-
A movie based on the X series would be dope though

genius. that's vision. the idea about a legit Zelda movie would be good. that means that they should also be pretty good as far as cgi goes, because now people can and should be able to pitch movies based on graphics and the visuals since those video games are rich with characters, action and plots. there's a lot of room for development. and we might even get a crazy breakthrough where someone does something crazy or never seen before like back when the matrix originally dropped. -

it would be ok if they take notes from that Astro Boy movie from a few years ago if they doing the classic series and made it computer animated. They could make it a kids movie
The X series however might be a different story because its much darker

it will probably be Pixar movie like wreck it ralph or the incredibles. that would be the best scenario. if Hollywood is smart. think of the toys and merchandise they could profit from.
