Me and my brother were having an argument on this last night, I say yes and he says hell no, not lyrical enough. I personally consider DMX's first two or three albums classics, although it took some time for And Then There Was X to grow on me. I admit he fell off kind of hard eventually but his emotion and talent were always real to me and in some ways his emotion and passion reminds me of 2pac. He has more than a few introspective songs and like any great artist, can (or was able to) make songs on almost any topic. If it wasn't for the ? he probably wouldn't have fallen off as much.
He was never a lyrical giant but some of the great ones aren't. Strictly off his best albums and songs, does he make your top 10 list? He makes mine, probably at number 9 or so.

Grand champ was crazy vintage x , not recognized as one of his classic
Dmx >>>> nas by far -

He was dope when he was out, but I've seen a lot of dope MCs come and go.
Also, he got his ass handed to him in that Canibus/DMX/N.O.R.E Hot 97 freestyle. Canibus straight mucked him. And I don't even have Canibus in my top 10.
Having said that, I'd rate DMX higher than Canibus, but on that night Bis had the better bars. -
Hell yeah, he should be in everyone's top 10.
Come on now................
And even this album below produced some bangers that were slept on...............

I love this dmx track right here, x was so real and raw the fact so many people sleep on his legacy and what he did with this rap ? is crazy, the media really went to work on him.
