This was Spike Lee's first movie. It was low budget but it got good reviews and critical acclaim so his next movie, School Daze had a better budget and professional actors. I believe it came out in 1986.

I just got finished watching Killa Season on Youtube.
I don't know how anybody could consider that a good movie. The plot, directing and acting was all poor imo. -
Anybody mention that one movie with E40 and B Legit where they were hustlers.

Straight Outta Brooklyn was horrible. I remember it came out the same week as Jungle Fever. Spike Lee said they should release it on a different weekend because the two movies would be competing against each other. So the director of Straight Outta Brooklyn, Matty Rich, took it as a diss and started talking trash about Spike Lee.
When it was all said and done, Straight Outta Brooklyn bombed and we haven't heard from Matty RIch since. -
