Y'all ? really be making this ? more complicated than it needs to be. Besides certain tax benefits and those sorts of administrative things, there is NOTHING tangible that marriage provides that can't be obtained buy just 2 people being committed to each other and deciding to be together without the actually marriage. Point blank.

With that being said, some people feel that marriage provides a more solid foundation for a life together or whatever. Some people feel like they personally commit to a person on a whole other level once they enter into a marriage. Som people feel like it provides a more solid foundation for raising children for some reason. Etc, Etc, Etc. Some people just want to be able to celebrate they love for another person and call them 'wife' or 'husband'. If you're one of those people, then get married. If you aren't, then don't.

But we gotta stop with the blood feud between the '? marriage' crowd and the 'pro-marriage' crowd. Neither is right or wrong and neither is more honorable than the other.

The poor stable conditions besides the other obvious attacks by White Supremacy is showing the break down on marriage. Marriage is more than just city/state legislative, it's the word that is bond. Nothing in the "? marriage" could have shown us anything worth a ? . But "Pro-Marriage" gave you civilization.

Explain how pro-marriage gave us civilization.

Follow the trend You have a Man and woman who formed a union and bring about children, then those children form unions with other men and women and their families, then that later turns into a clan, a tribe, a city, then city states, then later becomes a nation intertwined with each other's fate. That's how you traditionally create nations and this is why in most indigenous nations you find the majority of the people are related. Through those people with working ideas and different skill sets and different understanding of the natural world around them slowly developed complex structures to suit their new and ever growing dynamic into creating stability for nationhood.

Family is the first institution on this planet which gave rise to other institutions. You have to remember our ancient ancestors deified this for a very good reason and continue to say through the Griots that marriage institution is the first bond and stabilization.

So you mean a stable union gave us civilization. Got it. That's not marriage. Marriage is defined as a LEGAL agreement or union. We can't just take words and change their definition to mean what we want them to mean.

Marriage didn't contribute at all to creating civilization because marriage was created long after the dawn of civilization.

Why you always tryna make sense all the time bruh?

Marriage was a religious institution before it was a govt one. One could argue that the govt involvement ruined traditional marriage.

As a married woman, I would say the ideal age for a woman is 25+ and for a man 35+. Most men are not mature nor do most men have their lives together to take care of a family till they are in their 30s. I married my husband right after we both graduated from university. While I meet many whites my age who are married, its rare to find black couples my age who are married. Most seem to still be playing the field while being single mothers and fathers.

I believe the SES of many prevents blacks from marrying younger. I wish it would prevent many from having babies so young. Yet, professional women today are having children in their late 30 more than ever so for many marriage can wait.
