I didn't think much of The ? in Yoo at the time. Common sounded kinda soft and weak. He should have been more aggressive over the beat.

But its been said that Common won because he performed it at the House of Blues in Los Angeles.

WTF? You wanted him to scream on the track like Randy Macho Man Savage? Dude viciously shat upon Ice Cube and his whole crew and named rap names and government names and that's not aggressive?

Not every rapper gotta sound like Tim Dog when they make a diss record.

    I wasn't feeling it

He called Cube a ? out the gate, can't get no more raw than that

    "The ? In Yoo"

    (Yeah, for your nation...
    for your nation...)

    [Verse One:]

A ? ? wit an attitude named Cube
Step to Com wit a feud
Now what the ? I look like dissing a whole coast
You ain't made ? dope since AmeriKKKa's Most
Wanted to cease from the Midwest to the East
On the ? of the East for your 1st release
Your lease is up at the crib, house ? get evicted
And videos wit white boys talking you get Wicked
Natural Born Killa, ? you natural born ?
Look, read listen, got the nerve to say you rob
Hyprocrite, I'm filling out your Death Certificate
Slanging bean pies and St Ide's in the same sentence
Shoulda repented, on the 16th of October
Get some beats besides George Clinton to rock over
Rap career is over, better off acting
What trouble I see, you're managing WC and Wack 10
You backed in to a four corner hustla
Lying on your ? , said you was ? her
Use Higher Learning, don't take my words out of text
Went from gangsta to Islam to the ? of Das EFX
It'll take the Nation of Millions to Hold Me Back
From giving you mouth shots or hit wit the pipe Ralph got
When sucker ain't around, it's your Friday, it was good
I wasn't salty, she was wit the Boyz N the Hood

    [Chorus:]

I see the ? in you when you don't speak your mind
The ? in you, looking me in my eyes lyin
I see the ? in you, simply hard, you find
The ? in you but yo it's coming out

    [Verse Two:]

Up on this rap ? , Cube, I'm calling out
I break in and smack ? that's in the Slaughterhouse
This ain't no East coast, West coast, none of the above
I'm from Chi, I went to Cali, ? gave me love
There's a thin line between the fake and the real
Grafted ass ? , I see through your Glass Shield
Had skills once upon a time on this project, yo
    I'm a have ta wreck a ? 'shea
I heard a ? say you her favorite rapper
(So what) so I had to slap her, ugn
And violate you, a Muslim drinking brew
    Your ? ain't no Mack 10, he's a 22
I seen you, you ain't say ? to ATL
Cube, I like that diamond charm, I might cuff it, then sell
It out, like you sold Kam and Threat
A year ago, you wasn't talking ? about the West
Guess you knew you're ? was done plus the one got you cable
Hoo Bangin, you ain't banging ? but the table
And the Circle Madd, ain't got no choice but to fight
Ain't none of y'all muthafukas got a chance on the mic
Anytime you come out, yo, I'm a talk about you
Until you let that ? in you, walk up out you
Any last words before I hit the switch
From the immortal words of one, a ? is a ?

Good ? he did go in.

I could understand where Cube felt like "Use to love her" was dissin. Yeah Common did cook Cube afterwards but Mack 10's Westside Slaughterhouse was hard as ? too tho.

    Yall ? overrating this ? .

The beat is wack and Common can't flow over a beat for ? ... so how the ? is the song dope?

I remember when this ? came out and the only muthafuckas that was liking this ? or talking about this ? was dope... was East Coast/New York muthafuckas and backpacker type ? . lol

Most of the ? I knew in the hood and around the way wasn't ? with that ? because it was wack.

But I will give Common credit for responding back to Ice Cube.

Common disected Cube on the lyrics, but the beat was gah-bage and hurt the track overall. But I give Common props for coming at Cube at a time when Cube had most of the industry shook to come at him after "No Vaseline".

    Thats what I'm saying.

The only people who like this song are the type of people that go hiking and eat granola.

That's funny because between the two of them Common was the only one who was really in the streets like that tho

And I've run across him many times, even before he blew

The soft beat took away from some hard bars. I like the bars just cant stand that inspector gadget "hmmm what have we here" ass beat. Tried forcing myself multiple times.

I don't know what you guys are talking about... that beat is nice as hell. You might need to adjust your eq levels and stuff.

Alternate version produced by Havoc with Hav on the chorus...
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGXG5LS9X2I

Usually I prefer Hav's production of that era to most but I think the official version with the Light my Fire sample gets the edge since this one sounds like some late night WKCR Stretch and Bobbito freestyle background loop (which they usually used Mobb Deep for)
