So I was kinda feelin' myself, after I fixed the fridge, the stove (gas), and a door falling off the hinges - basically for free, in the last week.
I made this thread to share basic fixes and improvements anyone can do easily and cheaply. Depending on where you live, if you rent, it could be less of a pain in the ass just to fix ? yourself rather call you landlord every time something stupid goes wrong.
If you own, you could save thousands...
Post any questions you might have.

I been needing to do some electrical work but dont wanna hurt myself (no health insurance)
Does anyone know if its easy to replace power outlets instead of hiring an electrician?
All the plugs in my home are old and the magnetic hold has been worn out. Plug in the vacuum and the plug falls out extra easy -

You have to shut the power off first, but I suggest when you get a chance get all your electrical updated -
I know my garage was acting weird so I googled it and typed in what I thought was wrong. I could open it with the remote but couldn't close it and the lights were flashing, turns out the sensor beam were unaligned, went out and lined them up and bam, back in action, saved on that bill and it was a simple thing to do

I can fix all sorts of plumbing (and other random ? ), but electrical definitely requires a professional.

Once you start these projects, it never ends. Lowes and Home Depot will be draining your wallet, lol.

Yeah. I remember when I got my first house. I used to be one of them bougie city ? out here like "I ain't doing that, I'll just pay somebody to do it"....
Next thing I know I'm running cables all out side for security cameras. At Home Depot trying to find the right drill and drill bit to drill through cement....and so on and so on trips to lowes to find the right this and thats......next thing you know I'm in the crawl space (attic) of the crib rigging up lighting.....thought about tearing down and replacing the cabinets but ended up just paying for that.
Ironically I actually got to liking doing the ? but calmed down on it because once you start and if you're actually good at it, your confidence and imagination grows, it don't stop and it gets too expensive....

I got to grab some paint to change the color in my basement. Ain't nothing like doing your own housing projects, I'd rather be doing something than watching them ? ass tv shows

There a lot of good ideas / tips you can get from www.houzz.com I get a lot of ideas from there on how I would like my projects to go. You can type in the search bar "man cave" and it will show you different types of man caves, etc

I'm sure most in here realize, when you were a kid you built all types of ? , especially before video games were popular and you were outside all the time. We built tree houses, go-karts, forts, all types of ? . I've even made a bike from scratch by finding a frame and getting the parts. Tv and video has drained the creative juices out of a lot of people

Yea when the weather gets warmer imma have to paint my whole house almost
Just moved in last summer and u can tell previous owners used some cheap contractor paint when they put it up for sale.
Not looking forward to dropping couple hundred on paint alone. Plus need a ladder for these 15ft walls -

You also need to know what type of wiring you have, if it's aluminum or copper. That way when you replace the plugs, you'll know what type of plug to replace them with.
