KRS's problem is that he didn't appeal to the ladies. He was a backpacker rapper. He made songs that had dope beats and dope rhymes but chicks didn't dig him.
I remember me and my friends used to rate him in the top 3 when we were in high school but girls didn't even know who he was. The girls were into LL Cool J and Bell Biv Devoe. Even Rakim got more love than KRS did.
Then in the 90s when Method Man, Biggie and 2Pac started taking over, they got the girls attention while KRS was still making backpacker rap. I'm not sure if KRS ever made a song for the ladies.
My point is, dudes thought KRS was a GOAT but girls never felt that way. -

His album with Buckshot was pretty dope.
Dude's put out some dope ? but when he just talks about that teacher ? , it's like just ? and put music out. Nobody's trying to buy tickets to listen to a lecture in your basement that just reiterates first year college philosophy bastardized and set to hip hop themes. -

There is not a single Hip-Hop fan that dislikes KRS-One. Maybe a fan of pop, commercial rap and everything else on the billboard, but Hip-Hop fan? Nah, KRS-One embodies Hip-Hop at its core. He is THE MC.
And lol at disliking an elite MC, because they're calling out what they see as ? and don't believe they're getting their just due.
... 'Til this day, KRS is the only ? that has that special ability to make rappers forget that they rap. ? turn from "the best rapper in the area" to "nah I just be ? around", almost instantly lol. -
