The dispatched officer was on her first night of active duty when she arrived to the home of an Army Sergeant.
The domestic violence call turned into a double homicide.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) — A Virginia police officer was shot and killed during her first day on the job after responding to a domestic related shooting in Prince William County Saturday night. Two other officers were also injured.
The suspect, 32-year-old Ronald Hamilton, is an active duty Army staff sergeant assigned to the Joint Staff Support Center at the Pentagon. He is being held without bond and facing capital murder, first-degree murder and other gun charges. Police say Hamilton could face the death penalty.
Officer Ashley Guindon, 28, was sworn in on Friday and began her first shift on Saturday. She was responding to a 911 call from Hamilton’s wife.
As the officers approached the home in the 13000 block of Lashmere Court, Hamilton opened fire, wounding all three of them. Hamilton surrendered when additional officers arrived.
Guindon died later Saturday and the two wounded officers, Guindon’s field training officer, David McKeown, 33, and Jesse Hempen, 31, received non-life threatening injuries. They are being treated at Fairfax Hospital.
Crystal Hamilton, the shooter’s wife, was found dead inside the home. The couple’s 11-year-old son was also found inside the home. Police say he was unharmed and is being taken of by friends and family.
Guindon served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for about six years, police said. She was a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a bachelor’s degree in aeronautics and had interned with the Prince William County Police Department.
Officer McKeown has been with the Prince William County Police Department for 10 years and Officer Hempen has been with the department for eight years.
Neighbors say they heard gunshots and one person said they heard an officer yell “come out with your hands up”.
“We never thought it could be shots,” Maritza Gutierrez told our news partners at The Washington Post, adding that she heard “boom, boom, boom, something like that … very quick.”

I feel really bad for his wife who lost her life to that crazed SOB.. Also her son is going to have tough time dealing w/ this for rest of his life.. I hope her son gets all the help that he'll need.. Other than that no ? given to rest of people involved in this story...

Blue Lives Matter y'all.. I can't believe that ? who killed that female pig is out on bail and while the police are investigating to make sure they gather all the facts.. Oh wait.. None of that ? has happened.. What has happened tho is he was denied bail after being arrested and charged immediately.. He will most likely be assigned some ? public defender and then be judged by all white jury.. Who will easily convict he ass then the judge will give a life sentence or the death penalty.. White Justice served.. But not of that apparently matters to pigs because according to pig logic.. Pigs are are facing grave injustices across the country... -

In many other cases this rant would be good .not for this case though. This ain't the one -
this fool might get the death penalty.

I'm more surprised the ? survived the entire ordeal. Like this ? killed a cop... And lived to take a mugshot... That ? is amazing.
