The slightly off strip hotels (Rio, ? , & The Hardrock) are way more fun. They don't have the glam like the major hotels, but you're more likely to find like minded people & a good weed connect. I even recommend staying in the downtown hotels over the strip. The strip low key boring if you not gambling or shopping in Planet Hollywood.
Them downtown hotels used to be like skid row a few years back...

They cleaned downtown up. If you ask a Vegas local:
Downtown >>> Strip
Downtown has more bars to hop and dance between. -

ever since i got kicked out of Jet Nightclub for some bs....so if i aint gambling, i just have my mans who lives out there take us downtown and where the locals kick it at -

The best "urban" club isn't even in Vegas. Its in Henderson. A good 15 minutes away from the strip. Its a club called Sauce. Plus First Fridays and Holidays downtown is when Vegas is regularly lit. Only time The Strip is really lit is fight night or spring break. -
Yea unless u wit a gang of good company the strip don't even be poppin like that. The Lights do wonders, I still ? wit it tho cause alcohol....

Yeah they added The Linq (the ferris wheel & the surrounding area) to the strip just to compete with downtown. It has more bars and areas where you can relax and eat between gambling and shopping. They even changed up the area around the new T-Mobile arena. Its more bars and dining ? in that area of the strip. I've been here 5 years. And they've reported the strip was losing money while downtown was being renovated. So now they're adding more activities to the strip. The term "What happens here, stays here" was created because most people who have been places would say the strip was overrated. There's no club on the strip that plays strictly hip hop music. They bounce between hip hop and that techno type ? . Buffets waaay more pricey on the strip. ? got explore Vegas. Not just the strip. But they are building a new hotel/ Casino towards the south end of the strip. This ? supposed to be huge. -

Arcade, Bar, & Club. ? used to be lit for ? nerds. They got shut down though because too many kids would get in with fakes IDs. But that's downtown. -

I was trying to tell Texasboi that. He was looking for a soul food joint. I told him to go to Mario's on MLK & Lake Mead. He could've grabbed a bottle of Hennessy & a Gucci backpack while he was there. -

That's how the strip is. Every year they have a marathon that shuts down the entire strip. Before I knew how to really get around the city, that made a 15 minute drive home a 2 hour trip. -
